| ![]() ![]() ![]() Clean intercooler. I guess a can of brake cleaner through one side and out the other. Why can't you get the oil line off? What's giving you trouble?

| ![]() ![]() ![]() Lots of oil in the intercooler and throttle body can be a sign that the piston rings have gone bad With bad rings, there is more blowby in the crankcase (thus more pressure in the crankcase)...the excess pressure will do two things : - prevent the turbo from properly draining (crankcase pressure will try to escape from the turbo oil drain line, and this will push oil pass the turbo seals : smoking turbo) - the excess blowby will entrain a lot of oil with it while escaping from the PCV and valve cover breather...this means lots of oil in the intake, intercooler and throttle body I would do a cylinder compression test to be on the safe side!

| ![]() ![]() ![]() When my wife's turbo shit the bed at 48K miles, the intercooler had thick tar buildup of oil, but did not make it past the fins. Compression test for sure. |

(Thread Starter) | ![]() ![]() ![]() so pulled the intake off to get to the pcv valve, here's the weird thing I don't understand, oil is pooled in the lower part of the intake but valves are dry, oil in the turbo to intake piping? big plastic part. but no oil in the intercooler, mazda did a vvt and timing chain fix in august at 200,000 said bottom and top end were still good. I recently changed the EGR, oil cooler and filter adapter, any of this related to what is going on now, oh the pvc valve was completely gunked shut Last edited by RRiddle; 12-01-2015 at 12:18 AM.
