Default Pu vs S2000

So the other day, me and my buddy were on our way to meet up with some friends at one of our hangout spots. On the way there I notice a s2k coming up behind me on the interstate (40) so I get over and let him pass as he goes by me doing about 80. Me and my friend get to talking and I say I'll see if he will race. So I get behind him and start following him for about 2 miles. Traffic clears up and I pull up beside him and my friend notions to him to see if he wants to race. He casually nods his heads and we slow down to 55. We line up and my buddy counts it down from 3,2,1...we're off. He got about a half second hit on me but once boost built up I was steady pulling on him. Maxed out 3rd gear, perfect shift to 4th and he's already about a half car behind me, steadily losing distance. I shift to 5th and keep going and by this time he is about 5+ car lengths behind me. I look down at me speedo doing 110 and decide that's enough and slow it back down to the speed limit of 65. A couple seconds later the S2k comes past me doing his normal 80mph with a big smile on his face and gives me a thumbs up and drives on past.

Also, a few days before this a mustang got behind me after I pu'd all over him coming down an on-ramp. Long story short, he follows me while I'm out for a casual drive. I got into a turning lane hoping he would follow me to an open road to have some fun but he didn't so I got back behind him and started following him. We turn on Dull rd which is a somewhat curvy road and the mustang floors he. I see him gain a little distance but I catch right up to him and was on his ass. We're doing about 85 down this road just having some fun and he just couldn't take these turns as well as I could so that kept him from gaining distance. After we hit about 90 I back off and let him go and he slows down too after almost taking out a car going around a turn.
He somewhat waited for me at a stop sign and then does burnout when he turns for what reason? I wouldn't know, he was just mr. cool. I didn't see him much after that because I was doing the speed limit, too many cops on that road.

Nice S2k story. But with the mustang, I wouldn't have provoked it on such a curvy road. that shit can hit the fan real quick.

The road wasn't too bad, no major curves or anything, just your normal back road. I slowed down when I knew a sharp section of the road was coming up. He kept going and drifted into the other lane close to an oncoming car

Wait...you hit 5th, kept going, and only hit 110? You need to shift later then, or you were going faster. Stock pu 4th goes to about 112. By the time you're even 1/4 through 5th should've been 120ish.

Hmm...maybe I didn't shift to 5th. I thought I shifted twice. Damn my horrible memory

You have a BT though, don't you? Most of the stock turbo guys aren't shifting at redline.
