Revolution Performance Motorsports Revolution Performance Manufacturing (RPM) was started by three Mazda 6 enthusiasts in early 2004 under a simple premise: to develop and manufacture new products for the Mazda 6 at an affordable price. We began to realize our purpose with the short throw shifter and gas hood lifter kits for that vehicle. Since then, we have added many new aftermarket products from well-known manufacturers and continue to expand to offer products for other vehicles with the goal of having the best prices and customer service on the 'net.

IIRC, You mount the gc supplied grey bearing on the tophat. From your pic, You still need to pry off part of the bearing from your hat. The perch (red?, mine is gold) on after that.

Yeah, the only existing part you should be re-using for the front is the top hat (and the three bolts that go into it).

I thought the bearing was this thing...and that gray plastic thing is a bearing? It doesn't rotate or anything.

The instructions also say to keep the stock metal race. The fuck does that mean? The only thing that kinda makes sense is this, but it doesn't fit anywhere.

It's kind of hard to get a good sense of perspective in pictures, but like Mattyhawk said, you still have a plastic ring on the bottom of your tophat that needs to come off. There should be another race under that (I think, it would be slightly smaller diameter than the one you posted if I'm thinking correctly), which is what you keep. The light gray ring that GC sent mates to that. Honestly I don't remember doing this way back when I did mine, maybe they altered the assembly. I just recall ripping everything off the tophat and slapping it on top of all the shit in the kit.

The only way I can see this metal race working is by placing it in the new aluminum top hat, with the gray bearing on top of it. The beveled edge of the bearing fits nicely.

The thing is, I don't see how I can pry this off and keep the metal piece that the shaft bolts to.

The bearing from GC doesn't have balls and races, but just two plastic rings that ride on each other. It seems to work.

Weird. Nothing about keeping shit except the top hat. Still, since I just purchased mine, I should call just to verify. If I need to remove it, I can probably just jack the car up and cut it with some wire cutters.

GC contacted me and apologized for the confusion. That metal piece should have been left out. I lifted the front and used a dremel to cut it and pulled it out with vise grips. Thanks for posting that instruction set.

I don't know if you have already read or not, but I probably should also mention that your rear shocks won't last very long. I have the 600F/700R and well, both rears are leaking.

hmmm, that's wierd. I've had trouble with the fronts, but not the backs.

I've had Koni's before. Adjusted to full stiff, the rears don't last long. These aren't, so hopefully they'll last a little longer. Not that it matters too much because of the lifetime warranty.
