This looks like a glitch to me. Thanks for pointing that out.

I guess I'd have to ask, what would the point of that feature be then? Just for e-tuning purposes I take it?
Yes, this is mainly useful for e-tuning, learning from other people's tunes, sharing your logs with others.

I started a separate thread for feature requests, ideas and wishes:
Feature requests and ideas

1. Do you have a document describing what the tables do and how they interact with each other?
All table descriptions are right there where you would expect them - in the tune editor itself. No need to browse a separate document if all you need to know is what this little table is all about.
We are writing a separate tuning guide that will focus on the whole tuning procedure and describe the whole workflow - where to start, what needs to be tuned first, which tables are most commonly modified to achieve a certain result, what are the pitfalls to avoid etc.

Steve and Ugnius - is the CX-7 version released? Would love to get my hands on a CX-7 to tune. Any takers?
It's almost ready for release, we just need some more CX-7 beta testers to verify everything. If you would like to participate, PM me or Steve.

You can flash tunes to your car. The tunes can be from the VersaTune online tune database, imported from others who have shared, or locally created with your Versatuner install.

This offers flexibility and convenience. You can review other peoples tunes and logs for tuning ideas for yourself or to offer help to others.

Excellent, the little info pop-up when a table name/title is clicked is a nice feature. Didn't realize that was there.

Question: Currently VersaTune works for the 2007-09 vehicles correct?

Or does it work for up to 2012 speeds?

Cool

:outtahere:I still have a ETC TMIC, CP-E CAI and Forge BPV on my CX7.

My biggest gripe asside from having to have an automatic tranny is the nannywhere.

Just start pushing it in the corners and the power gets chopped at the first bit of sliding.
Try to launch and no full throttle and no full boost for the first 2 gears.
Top end resticted to 118mph when you are still in 5th for crying out loud...

Living in California I need to be able to pass the smog checks here. Either by resetting it or whatever. I would like to put a good exhaust but I fear over boost and the resulting fuel cuts seen by others...

While this car will never be the terror the Speed 3 and 6s are. It is fun to drive and to dust other more expensive Cross overs... It could be made better. Just want a little more power and to be reliable. Not looking for 300 whp or anything like that.

Still do not understand why Raider pulled the good stuff out.. Mine hauls my kids and wife around fine as is..

My kids would disagree They love the twin DVD/Game players. Especially on longer 3+ hour drives out here on boring Freeways..

Is there a limit on the number of times you can use this?

It's VIN locked, so no. There is no limit in VersaTuner on how many times you can flash the licensed VIN. I have flashed my car at least 400 times.

Hi @Ugnius@VersaTune! I have V1.6 and sometimes I still have to restart VT to be able to see the logs that I have taken since I started the program. But sometimes they are there.

Yesterday something weird happened, I have VT in the start-menu and I always use that link to open VT. But when I clicked it as usual yesterday it starts a windows installer and starts to install VT 1.6, but I already have it and have not uninstalled anything lately. I then get some error messages and the install closes. I have attached printscreens.
When the message in attachement "VTinstall3" comes up, I press cancel. And on "VTinstall5" the text is in Swedish but means "an error has occured during the installation".

I'm running XP SP3, Swedish language.

Now I have to go into the installed directory in "C:\Program\VersaTune\VersaTuner 1.6" and choose the file "Versatune.FrontEnd.exe".
There the program starts as usual.
Should I reinstall VT using the link I got via email when the 1.6 was out? If so, will I loose my tunes and logs?

Just ask if you need any more info.

Thanks!

The bug with logs not being refreshed is known to us and will be fixed with the next update. Sorry about the temporary inconvenience.
As for the issue with the shortcut, please try reinstalling VersaTuner. All your logs and tunes will remain intact, they are not removed during uninstallation. Please let me know if that solves it.

@Ugnius@VersaTune
If I want to install VT on a new computer, is there any way for me to copy all the user data from the old computer and into the new (such as logs, tunes and preset dashboard settings) or do I have to export/import everything manually?
It would be nice if there was a data folder somewhere in the install directory where the user data is, to make it easy to do a fresh install on a new computer and just copy the folder.

Thanks!

You need to copy this folder to your new computer:
C:\Users\[User name]\AppData\Roaming\VersaTune\VersaTuner (Windows Vista/7)
C:\Documents and Settings\[User name]\Application Data\VersaTune\VersaTuner (Windows XP)

It contains your presets, logs, tunes, backups and settings.
If you can't see those folders, make sure you enable the option to show hidden files and folders in Windows.

Yes I found the folders and copied the files inside to the new computer, but after I had done that I get the same problem as on the old computer (see below...). The windows installer wants to install VT when I have copied these files and open VT from the start menu...

Thanks!

@Steve@VersaTune
@Ugnius@VersaTune

Any ideas?
I can get around the problem with the shortcut if I create a new shortcut from the install location but if I for example try to open a new map with VT the same thing happens, an install starts. So I have to import it from within the program.

Did you install VersaTuner from the same user that you are using to run it?
Does the user have administrative rights? Do you use Swedish Windows?

We don't have a date set yet. We are hard at work on it though.

Please forgive my ignorance and I just picked up my Gen2 Speed 3 and I have searched without luck on this one. I have a Tactrix "EZ Flash" cable (Not the same as an Open Port) that I was previously using on my Buick Regal Turbo. Do you have any idea if this cable would be compatible with the VersaTuner Software?
