(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score i agree with all the reviews i read about this product. this is how it should have been from the factory. the throw of the shifter is just right for me and the height is not a problem at all. the combo along with the bushings got rid of the "awkward" feeling of the stock shifter. ease of install: not too bad. the instructions are pretty good. just make sure when you are trying to insert the new sts to make the side stub align between the spring and to fit in the lever. otherwise, you will have to repeat taking out the shifter which involves putting in the goddamn paperclips again lol. the tab portion was a pita because there is not too much room to work with. taking off the console and the plastic pieces was pretty straight forward. third gear gring: much better! the bushings help a lot with this, probably because they don't allow the assembly to flex. when going into third it is a lot more precise but you can still get the grind if your timing is not completely correct. i would say that the sts helps relieve the "grinding" a tad so you can be just slightly more careless and it won't grind vs as if you were stock you would get a grind if you know what i mean. after thought: considering the cobb shifter weight because the movements when rowing through the gears is a bit stiff. i am going to try and remove it or get the cobb and hopefully it will be just right. quality of shifter: i am confident that this is a mod you can just put in and forget about. the quality of the stock shifter actually looks better, but the twm is nice as well. and what i mean by that is mainly in the reverse spring. the reverse spring in the twm is weaker than stock, so you have some what of a different feeling when going into reverse, but nothing to worry about. hope this helps and thanks for reading! |
