Default Shifter Cables

So i just replaced my shifter cables on my 2007 mazdaspeed3 because I broke the forward one racing a Porsche 911(and winning hehe) so I got the new ones installed and I figured out the adjustment to make the shifter stay wherever the gear you are in is, but I'm having a really hard time getting into first gear and sometimes downshifting into second I have to push it way to the left to get to the gear, does anyone have any intel on it or know why this might be happening pm me or just respond on here

readjust the shifter until you find where it works. Look at the small pin for change in adjustment.
