Go into ATR, and bump your idle to 950. I did that to get rid of some idle vibs from my mounts, and it made a HUGE difference if reducing smoke. In ATR, go to 'Idle Speeds' A & B, and increase 140, 176, and 212F values to 950. Do this to both tables, and change your oil to 10w/40 as already suggested. I started getting a lot of smoke after I put my TP in, and all I've done is raise the idle and it helped a LOT. I'll probably switch to 5w/40 at my next oil change. A lot of people bump their idle (amongst other things) to help w/ the smoke. You can do both of these in a half hour, and it should help a lot.

Try bumping your idle... My car did the same thing at sets of lights. It was getting so bad I'd kill the engine if I was at a long light. Just bumping the idle cured that. Not completely, but I've left my car idling for 5 minutes w/ no smoke. Sometimes it will but it's so much better. Well worth it, and won't affect your tune, etc...

It's true. And easy enough to do.

And I've got the CPE catted DP.. thought the cat would help with smoking.. Not sure if the OP's DP is catted or not..

Bumping the idle is the only "fix" for me. I don't have an AP so I just hold the gas a little...yes it sux. Having the AC on bumps the idle too and that helps.

is it bad for the car to be smoking like this at idle or is it just an annoyance he is trying to fix?

I did the cat-back myself and the DP I had a mechanic do because I couldn't for the life of me reach that bolt on the bottom of the DP lol, now I think I can reach it with the CPE on there, the reach is much easier but.. before.. not a chance.

Bumping up idle to 900-950 also worked for my very occasional smoking, have had zero probs since
