It would be nice if along with the videos people would post install pics and just general picture of the exhaust systems. Something that isn't just from a website. If I pull the trigger on the ghl i will try and do that.

I had the GHL on my MS3, it sounds mean and was awesome. Plus, it looks like the ends look better with he stock exhaust shrouds on the 6

I really need to update my signature

Did you ever upload any vids of this? I'd be interested in doing the same for cheap

After buying a used 3" CBE off a guy with Aero dual muffler it was way too loud and sounded like shit (should have listen to it before I bought) I had 2 Magnaflow 12226 mufflers swapped in. Here's a clip. M2 DP, 3" SS to Y, 2.5" Y to mufflers.

Might add in a vibrant ultra quiet resonator Or high flow cat still not sure. Here is before

Here is after

Wondering if anyone has had issues sealing 3" DP to 2.5 catback.

I recently had to weld in a new flex on my CPE DP as it blew out. Gasket was probably also leaking but the flex was completely shot.

After welding it in I cleaned the flanges and installed a vibrant gasket but it did not seal. I was thinking of going with the thicker GS gasket but still worry it will not seal correctly due the the 3"-2.5" transition.

I found they also sell this:

3" Downpipe Adapter - Aftermarket DP>OEM Subaru Catback - GrimmSpeed

This with 2 gaskets or a probably a 3" gasket on DP and 2.5" donut gasket on catback should seal very well:

It seems like overkill but would be worth it to be done with it. However IDK that I can bring myself to pay so much.

$39 for adapter and GS shipping is $14.80 = $53.80
$39 Adapter and $17 gasket + $18.45 shipping = $74.45
$39 Adapter and $17 gasket + $20 Subaru OEM donut = $76 (free shipping)

EDIT
Mishimoto also has an adapter that looks good or even better and goes for $45: Mishimoto MMEXH-ADAP-3DSE

I think for now I am just going to buy the adapter which can be had for ~$40 shipped. I think using good 2.5" and 3" gaskets is the way I want to go so I can tighten the bolts down and have everything sit flush whereas the donut will leave a gap and will cause the flanges to flex if over tightened. Currently my flanges are flexing for whatever reason which is also why it is leaking.

@mikelevi; if you're still active, did you get tuned when you had the full 3" and had to retune after getting the 2.5" axle back?

I'll answer for him if this helps.

Axle back exhaust changes do not need a tune change. If a DP is installed, a tune is needed, but not for axle back and sometimes not even for cat back.

Hope that helps.
