I've asked TT about the bolts but I'm afraid they haven't replied. I'm happy to measure mine when they arrive, hopefully in a few days.

I guess TT did not come through with their Front Mount?

Unless someone had a problem, the Sure seems fine, and tons better than OEM. Note everyone thinks those 2 side bolts shear off ... NOT TRUE. They fail in bending fatigue, as the offset oem mount allows a prying action at the bolts during hard acceleration, and reversed prying when stopping hard. The front of the diff/coupling wants to go up when accelleratig, and down braking or letting off gas. So it's actually reversed bending fatigue.

Although the Sure bolts are a strong and tough Gr 8.8 (like US Gr 5) , do not exceed the OEM torque spec, which is likely based on the strength of the threaded hole in the case.

In all cases, the upgraded front diff mount replaces the bubble-gum soft bushing with a hard suspension type bushing material, with relatively no give. This can makes install difficult if the rear mount has similar hard bushings.

If it were me, with the advantage of machine shop experience and access, I would jig it and drill lateral holes in the urethane with brad pt drills, evenly spaced to create about 5 "spokes" in the solid bushing. This is similar to the oem design, and softens up the stiff bushing a bit. Definately not an essential mod.

One thing I don't understand about T-Case reassembly is setting the lash at the bevel gears. This is typically done with shims, like at the rear diff. With correct lash, a bluing test would show contact at the pitch diameter of each gear.

At a minimum, there should be some type of lash specification. Hard to believe you can just bolt it together, when bevel gears are involved.

Default rear diff mount

Installed reae diff yesterday only took 3 hours.
It makes a huge difference car feels more grounded, and no more jerking in the first two gears
gears. My launches feels a whole lot better well worth it

Could you give some details as to how you did it so quickly? I've read it taking a lot of people 6+ hours and one of our local guys told me he almost gave up lol. Any input you have to speed it up/make it easier would be appreciated - won't be long until I get the rest of my mounts.

The jerking in the first 2 gears irritates me. I'm surprised to hear that rear diff helped that so much

Damn, 3 hours must be a record for those mounts. I replaced mine a couple months ago due to my diff trying to twist itself out of the car since my bushings were gone. I think it took me and a buddy closer to 6 hours to do on jack stands. But I do have to say, like mazd1222 said it does feel much more planted, it's kinda hard to explain, basically it feels like you're getting a lot more power to the ground rather than losing it due to the diff moving all around.

Which mount you use? I'm pretty stoked to get my lift wired up this weekend and tackle my exhaust, downpipe, rsb, and both diff mounts...

Much better mount bushings were shot.[/quote]

That OEM bushing is not broken. What you see are "stops" between the 3 spokes. I think the oem rear diff mount , with 3 spoked bushings, are very much like that when new. Note the last picks of the new oem mounts on this page:

-mazdaspeed-6-diff-mounts-

For the normal, moderate driver, Mazda designed the rear diff to "float" supported by these very soft, elastic, spoked bushings. Great for low noise, and easy assembly. Durometer may be too low to measure. And when the "spokes" are fully compressed, there is hard stop to any more deflection.

But going to ~80 durometer solid "race suspension" urethane bushings is overkill, IMHO.
Sure had the right idea in offering 2 or 3 choices in mount bushing hardness, but still not soft enough.

Example, assume the bushing deflection is .4" for the oem diff bushings, on a drag strip start with 400 hp. At 80-90 duro bushings, that might drop to .04" deflection, and a large increase in shock loading on the gear train. With CP-E 60 durometer bushings on their rear diff mount, deflection may be .1 inch. This reduces noise, absorbs some energy on a hard start, and makes assembly easier.

That could be. Both elastomers ( rubber, neoprene, etc ) and urethanes are available at 60 durometer. I didn't think CP-E says which they use.

After searching a bit, I couldn't find anyone who's actually installed the bushings.
Anyone using them?

Update: I've been looking into a tt diff mount. Turbine tech Inc is now owned by new age auto. I've only just begun looking into them but I didn't see them on the approved "legit" dealer list for mazdaspeed parts? Can anyone confirm they are legit and have the tt mounts for the same price as befor? I dont want to drop 400 through street unit when I go to buy...

Haha this is not the place to ask about newage. They hate him but they also most probably have not dealt with him at all. It's just their opinion.
Thousands of people have good experience buying from newage. That's fact, not opinion.

I bought my SBC clutch from him, shipping and service was super quick. Ordered late Friday and it arrived Monday (note that I'm in Europe).

And the TT/Newage mount is also superior to the one sure has. I sadly have the sure mount but I would upgrade to TT any day of the week if the sure mount failed

I didn't necessarily ask for opinion. I asked if anyone had dealt with him because I hadn't seen his business on the list of legitimate parts dealers. As for sure I'm well aware of the parts being faulty and all that. I'm saying street Unit sells the tt mounts as well as new age. New age just happens to be cheaper so I wanted to see if it was an option regardless of good or bad experiences of other members.

Also my apologies if this was not the proper section to update where you can find diff mounts from tt. Forgive my noob ish mistake!
