Default 3" intake improvisation

So far I have a CP-e inlet paired with a tiny Cobb SRI intake which I didn't want to change because of the CAI box which I found useful both at fighting IATs and for smog/MOT inspections (the regular ones as well as the random police inspections in traffic).
However, with this large turbo (GTX3071R) I'd really like to have a larger intake to reduce the differential pressure on the sides of the compressor wheel.
But:
- I don't want to replace the CP-e inlet because it's really close to 3" and the larger options require hacking of the battery tray and/or ECU relocation;
- I still want to keep the CorkSport CAI box for the two above mentioned reasons.

So this is what I have in mind, I hope that someone did this already or was at least close to what I want to try. I want to get either a Kozmic/SSP big MAF intake kit or the XcelXL and adapt them to the CS air box. I can eventually try a different filter option if the ones supplied with these two will not fit, I'm pretty sure K&N will have something to fit my needs in therms of length, outside diameter and coupler diameter.
The silicone coupler these two have should help with the positioning of the filter inside the box, and eventually can be cut if necessary.

I'm a bit concerned using a breather filter instead of the breather line going back to the intake which gets a bit more vacuum (to make a bit more mess in the intake, but this is the ventilation system we have and we have to live with it), while the breather filter will only see barometric pressure all the time.

I have some polycarbonate MAF housings that are 3". I made one for my car. If you want to piece a filter/couplers together to make it work I would send it to you for shipping cost. Just let me know and I'll get a pic with signage and tag you in a FS thread on here. I think that's what I'd need to do @Raider; correct me if I'm wrong. Weird situation since I'm not really selling it.

Will do if he responds and is interested. Gotta go dig it out of the garage and I'm pretty sure it's in my stock parts box so not worth digging if he doesn't want it lol
