Well, seeing as gutted ('natored') stock downpipes come up in the f/s sale section, I'd say you'd be able to.

I still wouldn't though. Even with an aftermarket turbo, you can still run into boost spike (remember, this happened to 9900 when he went with a iwg 3076 I think, and older members here said it was a common problem), which a cat will help prevent.

I mean, if you plan on going BT, you can go with one of the bolt-on turbos (ATP 2871, 3071, 3076, BNR, etc.), but those are expensive. You can save some money by keeping your stock DP for the time being, so when you go big turbo, you're not limited by the downpipe you have.

On a whim, I shot off an e-mail to bullseye, and they make a smaller hotside for a holset hx-35 (70 trim IIRC) that bolts up to a v-band downpipe and a t3 manifold.

What that means is that you can pair that hotside with an hx-35 compressor side and have a great turbo for a lot less than any of the ATP bolt-on turbos. I'm still doing research into this, so the only difficulty would be getting a v-band DP either fabbed up or buying a cheap one on ebay and do some cutting and welding to get it to fit to either A.) a test pipe, or B.) A catback exhaust

A t3 manifold shouldn't be that hard to find used if you have some time to wait for one to pop up, and worse comes to worse, you just send steedspeed $675 and get their t3 manifold w/ 38mm EWG.

I still need to look into it more, but that's what my ideal BT setup would be - t3 holset hx-35 w/ smaller hotside, v-band flange, steedspeed manifold, and single exit exhaust. If you take your time working on it, you can put it together for less than an arm and a leg.

Not sure, but we do sell a L shape 02 cel fix for 35 dollars if you have this problem.

From what I've gathered, catted dp on genpu does not cause any CELs...

I will be ordering one either this week or next, but I won't be putting it on til the AP comes out and I can datalog...

OBX is not that bad anymore they been in business since 1986 the first 20 years they were buying exhaust from factory in oversea and these factory would under cut anyone so the pass three years OBX have their own factory oversea so they can control the quality now. I have seen a lot of their header and exhaust in person and I have to say they are much better then most other company exhaust or header in the market today.

yes, don't use the gasket we provide and only use OEM O gasket (it's not 100 perfect)

cnt dp catted or non catted is a complete one piece that replaces the factory test pipe and dp. so if you get cnt or cobb or aq or cp-e they are all one piece that replaces BOTH the TEST and the DOWN PIPE.

i had turbo xs cbe and turbo xs catless dp and rp. that shit is annoyingly loud. i would never go catless again. even on my BT i got a catted test pipe.

the CNT downpipe will fit perfect with all HKS . CNT exhaust or any exhaust with a large flat surface flange.

eww. disagree. corksport takes the cake for that, it shits on txs. txs makes the car sounds more like a SRT4 all the others dont sound good to me either. txs, glh, hks and cpe all sound terrible, cpe and txs being the worst IMO

Ok, so this car has been a learning experience for me and this will be my first venture into the exhaust side of things, so if this is a dumb question, sorry.

Anyway, can I simply get underneath the car and take a picture of the flange, or do I need to take the exhaust off to get the photo you are looking for? If it helps, I have a gen2 w stock exhaust.

Will this ship right away? I just installed a FMIC, and even w a tune, I think my shit is slower because of the pressure drop. It is my understanding that this should help me regain the boost.

Default CNT DP mated to stock CBE

I haven't got my DP yet ( supposed to show on Monday) but in order for it to fit the stock CBE, I think we need an adapter. If I am remembering correctly, the flange on the CNT DP is flat. CNT has an adapter on their website in the Subaru section, and this would also probably work.

Same idea as CNT's adapter, but it has a nice taper that fits in the DP to reduce the flow gradually when it hits the stock CBE.

Hands down the Exhaust sounds GREAT! Like Best sounding I've heard so far. Deep subie sound.

No drone at all on the freeway at 65mph. Is quite at normal driving, and does get pretty loud at WOT.

The install is a PAIN!!!!! You guys where not joking lol. Took about 5 hours. My buddy has a lift in his garage so it made things so much easier. Everything Bolt on just fine! BUT beware that bottem right turbo stud is a BITCH!!!!!

Sorry no pics. I had no cam. I'll hit up my buddy later for sound clips.

I dod throw a cel. its saying something about my 02 senser. maybe I fucked it up who knows?
