Default corksport turbo in CA
Ive searched and havent come up with any solid information. Does anyone run a corksport or similar turbo (BNR) in california? If so have you had any problems getting it smogged? I have a 07 MS3 with 161k and it is in dire need of a turbo. It s burning about .5 quart per tank of fuel. If im going to be getting a turbo id like to not have to buy another POS ko4. Im not looking to make a ton of power, will most likely just do internals, access port and good tune with whatever turbo i purchase. Any information would be awesome. Thanks guys!

If you can fit it under the stock heat shield I wouldn't worry about it passing visual. Even then most techs wont know the difference I bet. Though I may be wrong.

Is it smoking at idle or just burning oil? I need to replace my K04 as its puking oil into my intercooler and smokes at startup sometimes. Yet my oil level stays constant between changes. My leak is minor evidently.

I don't have to smog my car yet but I should be able to pass visual...If I install the factory TMIC+shroud my engine bay would pretty much look stock.
My DP is stock with all the heat shields intact, EGR is functional, intake is CARB legal and no disabled CEL. I do have a test pipe but that's well hidden but I may swap it back just to be safe.

Smokes a little bit. Not too much, hoping it is in fact just the turbo
