ETS TMIC Gen2 to Gen1 fitment

So long story short I bought a ETS TMIC from a member here that he wasn't sure if it was for a gen1 or gen2. Put it on then my hood wouldn't close. Does that make sense? I thought most TMIC's the only difference was gen 2's didn't use the shroud or they just use washers to add spacing to the shroud.

Anyone know about ETS in particular?

Gen2 TMIC shroud sits much higher than gen1...like 1.25-1.5" higher.
You can run it without the shroud but I'm not sure if the mounting tabs will get in the way or not.

edit: The end tank on the hot side might be larger on the gen2

Ah Damn thanks. For whatever reason I thought they were compatable. Maybe I'm thinking of another brand.

You can make the genjuan work on a genpu by adding washers to raise the shroud. Email ets, you maybe able to send the tmic and get the brackets welded in the appropriate spots.

Gen1 will work on a Gen2 but not the other way around, Gen1 will also work on a MS6 I believe. Actually thinking about it the gasket sits on the back edge of Gen1 ETS I had (the cooling area is larger then the Gen2 version). Did you try closing your hood without the shroud attached? Not sure how much if the brackets stick out far enough to catch or not but might be worth a try. Could always see if any locals would be willing to trade also, I know if I was local I would trade you my Gen1 for your Gen2 ETS.
