Default Forge BPV sealing o-ring type?

I have a BPV forge that was running ok with the k04 but when i went BT, i had some bad results between shifts, the car was dying under rich AFR. I tried all spring color without any better results. When clean and oiled, it works good for few days but it start again to rush after a while. I put back an OEM RX7 BPV and it was way better than my Forge.

Since manny run the forge, i probably have something wrong with mine...

I noticed the rubber o-ring that seem to stuck on the valve piston making it hard to initially move. Once it move few millimiters, it goes easy to the end travel remaining on the spring resistance. The piston is clean and free of dent or anything and o-ring seem fine also...

I bought it used and i was wondering if the original sealing for it could have been made with something else than black rubber o-ring? Someting like a plastic ring that could make less resistance that could have been replaced by previous owner with cheap o-ring?

If someone could take a picture of it'S valve and o-ring when he clean it, i could compare with my own. Or if someone did replace o-ring on it's own, just let me know.
Thanks

Just buy the rebuild kit from Forge. It's $10 + shipping. Comes with a new piston and all but 1 O-ring. Mine didn't come with the large O-ring that seals the cover. I Emailed Forge and they said they normally don't include that one, but the guy sent me one when I told him that was the one I needed.

will look into it and give it a try if shipping to Quebec isn't ridiculously expensive. Even if my o-ring looks good, if it get little bit larger with use and heat, they may make more resistance...
Do you have any link or part #?

I just seen that i have a ''V1'' and their is a V2 availaible...I wonder if V2 happen because v1 wasn't good...??? Because when i look at my forge parts, it seem to be in need of a design improvement lol

yes but oiled...with pneumatic tool oil. After oiling, it works fine for few km/miles and then it start again to make problems. It isn't that worst but it gives more lag between shifts than my RX7 oem plastic BPV that looks very cheap. It also goes very rich afr for 1 sec in the 9...
When i push the piston with my thumb, it is fine after oiling but after 15-20 movements, it begin to give a lot more initial resistance and i can see the piston not going completly straight following the o-ring curve a little bit making more resistance. That ''initial resistance'' create a larger surge for the turbo when i release the throttle under little to average boost

You talk about grease...I just heard about oil for BOV...which kind of grease should i try ? MAybe it would keep it lubricated for a longer time...

I'm still thinking that i don't have the correct o-ring in it so i will test a rebuild kit anyway and lets you know the results.

Check my other posting regarding the rebuild kit. if I remember correctly you can get it for free. You might only have to pay for shipping if anything. Also, it must be greased not oiled. The oil will run and the piston won't get a proper seal with the o-ring. I believe you need lithium grease or try a synthetic grease. I use mobile-1 and it's a burgundy color.

ok they quoted me only the shipping for the oring kit: 37.74$ and this wasn't including the price of the kit itself!!! It is would come close to the price of any used BPV just for o-rings!!!
Willl try grease first

I got the whole kit which includes an updated piston design, o-rings(I think there are 3), and all without having to pay for anything. A few other people on here have also gotten theirs for free.
I think you were talking to the wrong people. Contact Forge directly and tell them what happened. I think by e-mail is the best way.

Ask them if they will charge you if you pick it up in person.

I can swing by there and then mail it to you like @Raider; suggested.
