Best way to check for bad seal is to do a visual inspection Dave. Pull the intake many and you will be able to see carbon build up and fuel around the injectors.

Not to jack this tread but there are a set of inj seals u can modify to fit. They're from a 7.3l ford turbo diesel,that's what I did and they work great. Slight porting to the center and done. They're good for more cylinders pressure then we will ever see in ours and melting pour is more than 2000 deg.

That sounds like the info I got from the local company to me that made the injector seals for the new scorpion diesel ford has.

I did it like 3 months ago before I took my car apart for the manifold and liquid to air setup,as well as a few other things. I ran 22 psi no problem out of my 6262.

Not to jack this tread but there are a set of inj seals u can modify to fit. They're from a 7.3l ford turbo diesel,that's what I did and they work great. Slight porting to the center and done. They're good for more cylinders pressure then we will ever see in ours and melting pour is more than 2000 deg.

Ford photos show them as a "washer" type. IMO, that is the failure. Our OEM seals would be fine if the injector was "held" absolutely stable with the clamp mechanism. These SD (Silver Demon) seals are the "fix" as they fit snugly around the injector OD and the hole ID to stabilize the injector....

They are the same size od as the factory. Use a Mic on the inj for the exact size and get a bit and punch out the center It's very easy. U can even use a dremel tool, the three center tits in the middle come out and its snug on the inj. They are washer style and have a raised crush ring in it, I'm not saying his seals aren't good but the ford ones won't fail. If ford diesel engines are 17.5 to1 before 30 to40 psi I'm pretty sure they won't fail in our little pos. As far as the factory seals go they are dog shit ,those are fail black oxide spring metal please,I'd rather not waste my time with the factory ones with a big turbo setup. I don't think his seals will out perform the ford ones they rarely blow on the diesel engines,I worked on them and that wasn't a common problem.

It's inj hole was a flat machine surface. The seal has a crush ring built into it for sealing after torque pressure is set.

I already ordered a set (4) of the Ford diesel injectors from a local Ford dealer. I'll check 'em out when they come in early next week..... They are likely(?) much better than our OEMs, but I want a set of SD seals....
