Default M2 Downpipe?

I'm in the market for a downpipe/racepipe for my MS3. I was going to go with the Corksport but I came across the M2 downpipe for $200!? Plus its a one piece design instead of Corksports 2 piece, and less than half the cost. I know its not the same syle of downpipe, and its not going to be the same quality but if I can get 80% of the power of the Corksport for 40% of the cost it would be stupid not to go with the M2, right? I have the Greddy Ti-C exhaust right now and Im looking for the best bang for the buck power downpipe available that will have a 3" collector to mate with the Greddy. Please throw some of your brainpower my way. Cant wait to hear every ones thoughts. Thanks!!!

Oh, and I'm in cali but I'm going to register my car in WI when the tags expire so I dont care about smog. Tuning will be done at Cobb so I'm not worried about CEL or anything.

I read your whole post. I appreciate the info... I looked at the CNT but they didnt have pics of inside the bell mouth. Is it smooth? Any ridges or metal overlap?

Im going to put it on when I do the fuel pump upgrade... and maybe a FMIC. Then off to Cobb for a tune

CNT sucks to install and is more expensive. I had a cnt catted dp and it leaked at the bellow so I had to get another dp and went with the catless ebay one for $160 and it was so much easier to install and is running great. I drive my car very hard every day.. so good shit.

I've got the m2 on my ms6. No problems here either. Quality was actually pretty good, the welds were all solid and looked great.
Cant complain for the $170 or whatever it was I paid.

go with M2(ebay). Cheap and good quality. Easy install for what it is. I did it in my garage with jackstands.

M2 here, can't beat the price! I run one on my MS6. The welds looked great and fitment was perfect.

M2 here as well. It's good quality for the money. And you're not going to make a dime more horsepower with any other catless down pipe, regardless of what the lettering on it says. A three inch pipe is a three inch pipe. Same rule applies for cock.

Hey guys im new here and i got a question about the m2 DP. do i need to to order any gaskets for it and i can assume the gasket that comes with it probably SUCKS? i ordered the vibrant vband clamp since it was recommended here. just want to know what i will need and what to expect while i install and after?
By the way here is a list of my mods
Cobb SRI and TIP,test pipe,Magnaflow CBE,Cobb AP,sure shortcut and counter weight, sure anchors,HR springs, prosport boost gauge, and also just ordered my autotech HPFP internals so i can install the DP. Any info would help and thanks .

This, the only thing I have heard negative about it is that the gasket and hardware they include is garbage so re-use your OEM if you can or buy new OEM if you trash them.

So from what I have read, my only concern with putting this on my 2010 MS3 should be that I need to shorten the 02 bung, and use the factory hardware instead of what is provided. Has anyone else on here run this downpipe on a gen 2? From what I have read, this downpipes seems to be the best bang for your buck and I don't mind making minor modifications to make it work. Sorry for reviving an older thread...

My mods include corksport sri/tip, hpfp and rmm

There are scores of threads on this downpipe here. Perhaps search a bit more. You don't say that your mods include AP or some other tuning solution. Without a tune you will have very nasty boost spikes and may also outright overboost under load in the higher gears.

I have had this for about a year in a half...no issues, I had to cut exhaust hamgers to get it to fit because I was using a floor jack. Used stock gasket/hardware....no issues. Im running this with stock exhaust, I like the sound. Good luck.

I have an Ebay downpipe (looks like M2, wasn't called that specifically). The downpipe itself was really nice, high quality. The Turbine flange that came with it left a lot of room for improvement. I ended up grinding down the insides of the flange until it was nice and smooth, pretty easy with a rotary tool and a grinding stone bit.
