| Not Ranked : 0 score yea im nervous about pretty much the same thing,, im about an hour away from getting my test pipe put in,(which will have me with sri ,testpipe/downpipe and vibrant exhaust with res.), i don't want it to be too loud because i work construction and have to start my car at 5:45 am every morning and i don't want to wake up my whole block. but i must say straight pipe(in my opinion) is a little loud and "gerrgaly" but i have never heard it on a speed 6, my friends girlfriend has a speed6 with the same exact setup that i will have and her car sounds great. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score There may be a happy medium. You are all stock now, and you want it louder. Instead of jumping right to straight pipe, try getting a test pipe and cut off a resonator or just buy a new catback. If thats not enough, you can then get a catless downpipe.

| Not Ranked : 0 score If you're talking about straight pipe from the turbo all the way back, don't do it. It's way too loud and sounds like shit. Plus you can't keep it quiet even driving very reserved (shifting at like 2000rpms). It's just ridiculously loud. I know I had a 3 and not a 6 but it's the same motor so the sound is going to be very similar. And this is coming from a guy who had an SRT-4 with one resonator and no mufflers saying that a Speed with straight pipe is too loud, lol. Straight pipe from the stock downpipe/test pipe back sounds pretty damn good though. But once I put the catless downpipe on and it was straight pipe all the way, it was too loud and didn't really sound good either.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have a catless dp/rp into the stock CBE on an MS3. I experimented with my G-Tech Pro RR accelerometer to compare acceleration between this setup and what a straight pipe or a cutout dump would be like. So I temporarily disconnected the CBE and left it hanging and made some test runs to compare to my normal setup. Results: 1. No power gain - the MS3's stock CBE flows extremely well. Since the MS6 duals are a bit more restrictive there is a tiny bit of gain to be expected, but there are much better ways to gain poser. 2. The sound was - - - well, think John Deere diesel farm tractor, o.k.? Except way louder, since the tractor does have some rudamentary muffler. So, if it's that tractor sound you're going for. That'll do it for ya.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I know this thread is old but i feel you can't compare ms3 straight pipes to ms6 the sound is completely different. I'm running 3 inch cat-less down-pipe with stock exhaust and no mufflers and i love it. as long as your just cruising its not bad but step on it and its pretty awesome. Its a little loud on cold start ups but i lived in a condo and i never had any complaints. @Jeremy3eb; he likes it haha

| Not Ranked : 0 score I had my car straight piped for about a year. 3" piping from turbo that ended right at the rear diff. I had a 20" resonator in it too. It was loud, but not overly. But I am now grown up a little and have a reall exhaust lol. Here is a clip of the striaght pipe setup.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have got my speed 6 set up with it straight piped all the way back off a 3" downpipe. yes it is loud as hell when you are trying to be quiet. yes you probably will get pulled over for it being so loud, but I absolutely love the sound of the exhaust when revving at high speeds. it has such a mean sound to it IMO.
