Default <<<Woohoo! Finally installed my CS DP - went Stg 2!!!>>>

First off, what a fucking nightmare. The DP install on this car is a fucken beyotch. I have a "decent" set of hand tools so thank God I had plenty of swivels and extensions. I had to rig up some really off the wall combos. People told me to warm up the car a bit and to be honest, it really helped. I was at the point of giving up more than a few times but I just plowed through the install as best as I could. The hardest part by far is getting the 5 DP nuts off. Everything else is easy as long as you have the proper tools. I have to say that this might have been the hardest job I've ever done on a car. I've installed turbo kits on non oem turbo VW's, I've pulled mustang 5.0 and Audi 1.8T engines, I've done Timing belt jobs on 1.8T's....all of those don't compare with this job. Still, if you have patience and some know-how, it's a job that a fairly competent enthusiast can do in a day. I don't know how some of you guys pull it off in less than 5 hours...you must have lifts + air tools. With jackstands and hand tools, count on at least 6 hours, maybe a tad less if you don't have trouble w/ the DP nuts. It took me 12 hours total but I'm the type that likes to take breaks and step away from things for a few hours at a time. One other thing - PB blaster FTW!!! can't have enough of this stuff!!! Pics to come!

I'm on an old v102 Cobb stg2 + MSCAI map. needless to say, thanks to the ETS, I'm stuttering and cutting all over. My car is Emo.

I'll flash to a new map at lunch time.

Mine is shuttering too! mine is boost cut though, spiking over 19psi. I can let the boost build and hold it at like 3500 rpm and then punch it and it's insane.

I agree with the DP being a bitch. I did the install a few weeks back.

a friend emailed me the v103j and k versions of stg2+ SRI FMIC. I'm trying those out and keeping an eye on things. the v102 version stuttered and cut all over the place. I do still have to get some new plugs in the car. I've got them on my work bench, just need to put them in and stretch the coil springs at the same time.

do you think I'll be leaking boost w/ the stock BPV? I think that's my weak link in my setup right now. After I get a forge BPV, the a CDFP upgrade for safety, I'm done modding for a bit.

everyone suspects the stocker is weak, so thats why im interested to see. You should most likely be hitting 20 in 3rd like me, but the stocker was designed for a bit less im guessing. One way to find out

I gained 1-1.5psi just upgrading my BPV to a Forge.

94- you will probably be fine with the stocker. i felt zero difference going from the stocker to HKS. I've also had the turbosmart and forge... I think the reason the stocker leaks in the upper rpm is when the stock map starts closing the throttle in the upper rpms. The closing throttle creates a pressure differential and the bpv vents air (just doing its job). Get a forge with a super stiff spring and the pressure difference needs to be much greater for it to vent, this it 'holding' more boost in the upper rpms. So really, (IMO...in my theory lol), the throttle is the issue here, not the stock bpv (unless your particular one just sucks, or something), but the throttle! Get a full throttle flash or have an AP the throttle is held wide open- problem solved and stock should be just fine.
