| Not Ranked : 0 score Just bought a pair of front rotors from advance auto for $75 after $50 off $100 with code MISSUL44 (added a can of caliper paint as filler). I got rear autozone rotors for $40 (pair). I will see if I can get a MS3 over to compare when I do mine.

| Not Ranked : 0 score We talked about this in my build thread. Front pad SHAPES are identical. The inner pads have identical clips. The outer pad on the MS6 does not have any clips, where the MS3 outer pad does have them iirc.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Please note that the Wilwood factory 13" front kit is nowhere neeear $1995. In fact that listed price is hundreds over Wilwoods own web page price. Final dealer costs can also be far less that that. We've packaged this front kit with a full compliment of ss hoses (with shipping included) for under $1100. Nearly $900 less than the posted price. Also TCE/Wilwood 14" front kits can be had well under $2k starting at only $1709. TCE also has a rear 'big rotor kit' listed for $597 to compliment the front kits above. Peace. Carry on...

| Not Ranked : 0 score This option should probably be added to the OP as well: Powerbrake PB44L Big Brake Kits Powerbrake Catalog Not sure on exact pricing (I got mine set second-hand, but I know the kit PB44L I have was north of $2K new), and they're still in process of getting their USA facility up and running, but they can be purchased by contacting them directly or by going through Carbotech, if I recall correctly.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah, I can confirm they are a good idea. The car stops very well. The initial bite when cold is OEMish, but you really need to apply the brakes lightly 2-3 times at a stop light and it's fixed. The only downside is that the disks corrode a bit faster when the car is not used for a long time and it's moist outside (not used for like 3-4 days of rain), but again, that goes away quickly.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Ok, so I'm looking for an advice from someone who knows these brakes and/or went through the same issue as I do now. the stoptech brakes I have are superb as I said. However, now that the summer is on I felt they faded a bit on me with two occasions so far during spirited driving on my favourite street course. So I need a slightly more aggressive pad (because probably the rotors are ok), but not too much more aggressive than what the stoptech street already is, just slightly (I still need the cold usability because we have 5-6 months of cold weather per year). So what is the pad I'm looking for and is more aggressive but still street friendly like the stoptech street ones are? Some Carbotech or Hawk? Stoptech Sport?

| Not Ranked : 0 score I was using EBC Yellowstuff for track and street and was happy. I might have been seeing a bit of fade at the track at the end of the 20min sessions, but if any it was minimal. That was on stoptech high carbon rotors and summer tires. And on a fairly warm day (mid-80s). They were great on the street, even in winter. Much better cold bite than the Hawk HP plus.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I kept recommending the yellowstuff pads to various people to use with the OEM rotors even if they are a bit more aggressive and abrasive with them. I can't understand how I failed on thinking to get them. I ordered a set, we'll see how they work with a brand new set of stoptech slotted rotors.

| Not Ranked : 0 score So i have finally found some alternative brake pads for the Brembo BBK for the MS6... They are the rear brake pads for the 2005 CTS-v.. But i have a question for the brake gods out there.. Will this pads work for a replacement pad for the MS6 front pads? Will the slants on either end hurt performance? I only drag race so no auto crossing or rallying. What i am concerned about is that slants on both sides of the pads if it makes any difference.. Sorry for the upside down pics...

| Not Ranked : 0 score Ok fyi for those that were or are going to take your factory rotors off and use this rotor. There are a couple of things you need to know. The rotors works you just have to hone the center out because of the step in the hub. So just hone that out enough to fit over the step which is about a few 1000ths off voila!!!!!

| Not Ranked : 0 score So I ordered powerstop OE daily driver solid rotor + pads kit for the front from rockauto. What I ended up getting was the performance vented/slotted/drilled rotors which cost like $100 more then what I bought but was charged for the DD kit. I contacted rockauto and they told me I can order again and return what I have but that would mean I’d have to wait another week and only have time this weekend to work the on the car so I’m thinking of just keeping it. Will there be any problems on stock ms3 calipers? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I don't see how the performance rotors would be an issue. As long as the bolt patterns, outer diameters and widths all match up, you should be fine. As a matter of fact, I want in on this deal! I wonder if everything matches on the Speed6 Sent from my LG-H918 using Tapatalk |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks. I replaced my front pads and rotors and noticed that the front calipers didn’t have a dust boot cover that goes over the calipers pins. I’m guessing the shop I took it to last time to do brake work years ago never put them back on. The dust boots looks fine just doesn’t have a cover. Would the dust boot covers I pick up at auto stores like autozone work or would that require me to actually remove the old dust boot and put in the new ones? Are the covers even that important if the actual boot is ok? I mean I’ve driven for years without noticeable brake problems from the front. Edit: went to AutoZone and got the duralast hardware boot kit for $10 just for the covers. 3 fit perfectly and one boot pin hole was looser then the rest so the cover receded inside more. Don't plan on getting under just to replace the boots so I have extras now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Last edited by lreyes66; 09-22-2017 at 05:20 PM. |
