Default venting to atmosphere

is anyone doing this on the cx-7?

i put an HKS bov on and had it stock... never noticed a difference...

unhooked the bypass valve hose and let it chill.. i can super here the turbo and it feels like it pulls a little harder ( sucking un restricted air into the turbo from the bypass valve? )

i drove like 30 miles then all of a sudden a CEL when sitting in a parking lot...

now...
cell is on but i like the sounds im getting and the "extra" power feel is dope... i like the VTA sound because its super loud...

is anyone set up to VTA and not getting a CEL?

lmk what you did or im just going to put the tube back on be super quiet again

Block the recirc hose off with a plug and reset your ecu and you should be fine. I am running vta with turboxs. I put it on, blocked off the recirc hose, and drove it for about 100 miles and threw a cel. I unhooked my battery cable for 10 sec, put it back on and never again threw a cel

If you didnt block the hose than its going to throw a CEL. I Have HKS on my MS3 that was running vta. Never had CEL but my battery was also disconnected when I installed BOV. Im now running Recirc and think it sounds so much better. I do like the VTA mode but think I like recirc alot better. GL..

^ agreed.

i'm not sure if anyone has found a proper tuning solution for vta but without a tune i wouldn't run in vta. i like the sound too, but screwing with your car's performance for sound is just ricer bullshit.

you guys are all silly gooses!

lemme explain why vta is bad on a stock draw thru maf setup

your maf is located pre turbo also know as draw thru, hence air is metered before it hits the turbo. whn you vta all the extra air that gets bounced back when the throttle plate is closed is accounted for. so the ecu already calculated for that extra air and when no extra air comes back, the fuel is still getting dumped in with no air making you run rich.

running pig rich between shifts is bad. why? do a search

p.s if you really want to vta, make a blow by maf setup. also if you dont understand wat im talking about, search. but try google because the only person ive seen do this is on the ms plateform is qwik6.
