(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score i love my 07MS6 and refuses to get rid of it no matter what anyone says...However, this nuance from the dealer installed KARR alarm has always bothered me. I have taken this up to the dealer twice soon after I purchased the car and each time they told me theres nothing wrong w/ the wiring and etc... So, here's the problem and I would like to enlist the power of MS forum to see if anyone has a solution: Problem: I can only disarm the alarm via driver door handle, keyless entry fob, or key in driver door. If i attempt to use the passenger door handle button to unlock (cause ya know, sometimes we wonna be a gentleman and open the doors for our ladies)...it sets off the alarm. This is kinda annoying on a day to day as well as I'm forced to walk around the vehicle to unlock from the driver side or dig my keycard out of my wallet to disarm the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Without seeing a wiring schematic for the alarm as well as how it's actually connected there isn't any way to help you. It sounds like the alarm is disarming with the trigger from the drivers key cylinder switch. There is no similar wiring in the passengerside, so there really isn'tsnt anything you can do to change it's behavior..

Thank you, I have very little information on this alarm system as well after doing quite a bit of research. I've seen photos of something similar only from https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=609433 but that's for a MX-5 which probably doesn't apply to me. It seems like others on this forum also have this alarm installed, but none are reporting the issue i'm experiencing (maybe they don't use unlock from their passenger door much)? If anything, I'll start researching into how to remove this it from my MS6. Thanks again! | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Ok ive spent 15 years as a remote start/security installer at pc/bestbuy/cricuit city before moving on to a diffrent field. I was busting out hundreds of remote starts per year (litteraly i did the math) and all i can say is that system is total shit and is worth about the 50 bucks the dealership bought it for before chargeing 700 to have it installed... The door handle and key fob hits up the factory disarm wires that the cheap aftermarket systems use to disarm themselvs. The best thing you can do for the car if you really like it is go to a place and pay 300 bux for a dei/compustar/audiovox remote start( manual tranny safe ...)/alarm and they will rip that old shit out and do it right. Just make sure they have at least a mecp advanced/master installer to do the job. On a side note the worst installations i have ever seen aside from the rare coustomer attempted install ( once dei had sold a diy remote start install kit.... that was a fun year) have been from "dealers". I fucking hate dealers.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Take the dash panel and kick panel/running board trim off and post some pics of the connections. It should be very simple to remove if its only a passive alarm.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks, I will try to get to it this weekend and take some photos. I hope it's not difficult as well..really tempted to do this on my own if dealer didn't make a bloody mess in there. |
