Just picked up a red '01 as a replacement for my '91 Miata. The car has 220,000 miles, and about 75,000 miles on a 2ZZ engine. About 185hp with an 8,100 rpm redline, 6-speed transmission. Will use the Spyder as a cheap backup to the Racepig. At a minimum, the car needs a baffled oil pan (just ordered) and a roll bar before I test the car at the Texas World Speedway and decide on further upgrades.

When you remove the spare, there should be enough room for a duffel/gym bag.

I do not think there is anything else done the car, but most importantly, all electronics work, there are no check engine lights, a/c is freezing cold. Just ordered a replacement soft top and will try fitting Lotus Probax seats which came from my Miata.

There is an importer in Texas that gets the hardtops from the UK often.... hint hint, wink wink, nudge nudge.

Not going the hard top route this time. I had two Miata hard tops and they were always a pain in the ass to store and to worry about being stolen.

My parents are still driving it, it will be for sale in a couple months though when they are gone.

Sold the Civic the first weekend after the parents left, the Spyder is in the shop now getting a broken lift bolt extracted. I installed the Moroso oil pan a while ago and have a roll bar waiting at home, will install it when I get the car back from the shop.
