(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Locations that I’ve found that sound like its coming from the dash area. 1) The plastic cowl by the wipers. 2) The plastic part that’s attached to the fender by the door. You can see this part when the door is open. http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...5-rattler2.jpg http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...p5-rattler.jpg 3) A peice of metal under the wiper cowl that runs front to back on the car. If you tap on it with your hand you will hear it rasp. I jammed a zipstrip (green zipstrip in video clip) between it and the other peice of metal. And no more rattle dash noise by the passenger side airbag around 2.2k-2.6k rpms!! video-2011-10-31-17-42-21-1.mp4 video by StelathWyvern - Photobucket Anyone know of any other known locations? Before anyone says anything its not my glove box. Its sitting in my back floor board while I track this thing down. The ash tray has also been removed. UPDATE: Fixed that #3 above.. got the two peices of metal welded together.. man that little issue makes a shit ton of noise! I can tell a MAJOR difference even with all my carpet out in my car! After you weld it cover it up with some paint.. All I had was silver paint. Please note before you weld this together make sure you have all leafs cleared out of the cowl aera and just do the part away from the glass. The shop that did it for me almost had a fire issue due to the insulation under the dash from welding the panel under the windsheild for me. Last edited by StealthWyvern; 05-26-2013 at 03:51 AM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Hi, I think I have the exact same rattle but cannot view the video that you had once posted. Can you repost or send to me a private message showing the rattle location under the cowl ? Was yours under the passenger side of the dash ? Thanks, Mark |

CMJA91 - The "dash" rattle location turned out to be under the wiper cowl on the passenger side. You have two pieces of metal that touched that I tested by sticking a ziptie in-between to isolate them. Once I figured out that spot I had them welded together. Its not pretty but hey it works and that stupid spot is fixed. I had a friend try welding this and her welder was to hot and burned right through it. I later had a friend fill it and re-weld it with a proper welder instead of a stick welder but the below shows the two pieces that caused the rattling/buzz noiec that sounds like its in the dash. That hole goes back up under the dash. Last edited by StealthWyvern; 01-31-2016 at 07:10 AM. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score There is one other to look for. It's where the bumper and fender connects. It's a plastic bracket that degrades after time. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
