MSP with light mods for DD?

Looking for a DD with some power. Thinking about basic mods, exhaust, intake, methanol injection and tune. MSPs are $4-5K, and MS3s are double that, and the HPFP worries me. Just looking for a reliable daily driver. Will the MSP fill the role?

MSP 's are made out of tin foil... And lawls @ MSP and power being mentioned in the same breath.

lol no. MSP's are one of the most problematic cars mazda ever made. They took the same exact 2.0 that is in everything else and slapped a tiny ass turbo on it for a whopping 175~ hp. If you plan on making more power than stock you'll throw a rod. Transmissions suck, especially 3rd gear. ms3>>> MSP in every way shape and form. only way I'd get an MSP is if it was given to me or I knew it was properly built and I was getting a hell of a deal

Or you could Get a BP protege or a 1.6 and turbo it, they handle a substantial amount of boost not like the fs de in the msp.

Aside from the shitty motor, the interior has its problems too. My brother had one, and he had the steering wheel stitching replaced once, and the flip out radio replaced twice within the year he had it. Thing was a pain in his ass for sure.
