AEM, Injen, Cobb...they ALL use the same thing if it was a problem with the design I would think a company as large as aem would have done a redesign.

I bet Corksport or JBR would have just sent one out, no questions asked. Hell I bet I could contact one of them and be like hey cp-e is failing miserably, you guys want to help me out? And they would.
Seriously.... That is old its been well used and abused and unfortunately it fucking broke, boo hoo. Jbr and Corksport probably would not replace that shit and you know I dont blame CP-E for not doing it either. If it was 5 days old I would back your play but its not. You came on here with an old ass part didnt, even donate, and refuse to accept the help of our number one troll killer in getting you a replacement part. QFT and GTFO....

Anyway pictures:

Only one side was seperated (the side that mounts to the frame) but on attempting to remove the other side from the bracket on the intake itself, the other side of the rubber seperated too.

As you can see, things are a little dusty but in good shape (minimal rust and whatnot) where the intake mounts.
That looks totally different than my AEM one. Looks like the glue came off the rubber. Wtf??

PS there is a website that decrypts Grainger part numbers for the real manufacture. I hate Grainger they charge 10 bucks for a 5cent part. Used to work with them back in my purchasing days for the big three in Detroit.

Yeah because I really want to become a "VIP" on a forum I never frequent and seems to have members that tell me I'm whining about nothing...*shrug* seems foolish.

I appreciate those who have made positive comments and linked me to alternatives. We will see if cp-e makes right with this, it's really in their hands at this point. Failing that I can source one for myself and inform others on the half dozen other forums I'm on of my poor experience with cp-e and never spend another cent on their products. Their choice.

They made right with it you. They provided you an option. The only mount on my car is the CPE Stage 2 RMM and I never showed a single issue with the intake mount. Something else is fucked up and causing excessive movement if you tore the intake mount. CPE provided the option of buying a new one which is the same any other manufacture would do. Difference is, CPE offers it as a stand alone part. AEM had me purchase a whole new "installation kit" when my air straightener accidently got crushed by a "helper" stepping on it (hence why I believe I have an isolator out in the garage).

TL;DR: Stop being a whiney little bitch and pay up or

Well, this thread can be finished now. A big thanks to JP from Edge Autosport who has stepped up and is taking care of it for me (I originally purchased the intake from them). Goes to show that some people in this world know what customer service is and how to better their reputation in this industry.

Well looks like this has been taken care of. Thanks @JP@edgeautosport.com; always above and beyond.
We're sorry you feel this is bad customer service, but most manufacturers will not warranty this part as stated above AEM did not warranty this either. It's a wear item. When you get the new one make sure you support the metal part when putting lock nut on. The twisting motion when tightening and loosening will cause stress on the glue that is holding it together.

Those little rubber isolaters arent designed for this type of heat exposure and shear loading. Intake companies just use them because they can get them easily off the shelf for $2.

bottom of the frame with lots of air exposure, not much high temps. The salt/chemicals and freezing cold from being in the Republik of Canadiastan, and floppy sloppy OEM motor mounts attributed to the fail. You can see the brown rust on the part that wore out.

Yes, they do.....only up to 60k miles unless you purchase CPO car. Bare in mind this is for the average consumer not the gal/guy whose going to mod and flog the vehicle. If the dealer and/or Mazda deem some of the mods you've incorporated into the car contributed to the failure they don't cover it.

Looks like rust on your mount, clean/wash your engine bay much? Did you over torque the nuts during installation? An argument can be made you failed to install or maintain the equipment properly.

Is this style of isolator the absolute best solution for the application maybe/maybe not but it's the most cost effective in order to keep the product price competetive. If CP-e or any vendor engineered and produced their products to the Nth degree this would be a terribly expensive hobby.

I'm pretty sure most will agree more effort and resouces have been expended bitching about this $2 isolator than it would have taken to buy one and ship it. BTW, maybe this place can supply you what you need....Brafasco

As a side note while I appreciate vendors providing a "Lifetime Warranty" one has to wonder if it's truly a good business model. With so many companies providing a "Lifetime Warranty" I am often reminded of the statement in Tommy Boy that at the end of the day "all you truly have is a guaranteed piece of shit" and what really matters is how well the company maintains the vendor customer relationship. However, that's a discussion for another day.

I dont completely trust cp-e however im pretty sure even if you have a job at 6.15/hr you would have paid for this part many times over! Reasonably you cpuld have asked them for a $5 credit lol

Movement = friction ...shit happens. If it was a fmic core or welds that split or clamps fracturing in cold weather ok but that is just from friction. Was it made properly?? Who knows because we dont have access to your car

My rear motor mount failed at 20000k because i drive hard. I bought this car knowing what breaks and how much money id have to spend on essential upgrades. All performance cars in this range have somewhat aggressive enegine movement

Frick i knew shit all about cars up until.36 months ago but i taught myself everything from the basics changing breaks, oil, sparks to overall maintenance and engine upgrades. Guess what, this engine moves a fuck! Havent younoiced the knock when you floor it and shift lol without upgraded mounts

I still don't see where the OP has gone wrong??? Yes, it's a minor part... but it's the principal.

I vaguely remember ppl going thru similar shit with the cores on the pumps... all of a sudden the wording changes on their website.... We forget these things.

The principal of being owed something just because? People need to stop feeling entitled and then abused when that self perceived entitlement is not met. I had my idealized view of how my motor mount situation should be handled. Even though it didn't go exactly as I would have liked, CP-e obviously made a decent effort to make the situation right. Companies falling short of your expectations of how the universe should revolve around you does not mean they are providing shitty customer service.

The part is lifetime warranty.

Terms | Custom Performance Engineering

Warranty

cp-e™ prides itself on the production of quality parts. All of our parts come with a lifetime warranty against defects in workmanship or materials for the original purchaser. Our lifetime warranty does not include short blocks, cylinder heads, and non cp-e™ parts. You must provide us with a copy of your invoice as proof of purchase. In the event that a defect occurs cp-e™ will repair the item. If the item cannot be repaired cp-e™ will then replace the item.
Nowhere in any of their literature does it say that the rubber isolator is a wear and tear item and not covered. The part is of poor quality/material and failed. Therefore it should be covered. It's as simple as that. The principal of it is that it SHOULD be covered and it's a cheap little part and it never should have gone this far.

They did not make a decent effort to make it right. A decent effort would have been "Hey sorry, these aren't covered but since we never told you we'll update our literature and send you one in good faith but in the future we won't be able to do this."

I can't understand all the nutswingers here defending the company. Has nobody here ever followed up with the warranty on anything they've ever bought?

The part that broke didn't break due to a defect in manufacturing nor a defect in workmanship. Therefore, it's a wear and tear item.

Right, but it broke due to material ie the poor adhesive/rubber and material is listed in the warranty.

It broke because it's old, not maintained, and is a wear and tear item.

You fucking imbecile.

When it gets posted on a public forum, it is open to people chiming in. I am sure he was looking for the chiming in to go in the opposite direction, but I guess that is just more evidence to support the fact the universe doesn't revolve around him.
