March 2008. Not only a mod, I pay for VIP too. Happened to me. Twice. And get this. Once on the 2nd oldest CPe cai they made. Ever. Literally. Not fucking kidding. It was preproduction January 2007 when I got it. Was stuck on when removing and broke last year. And on my CX-7 too. Oh, and my buddy's cx7. ALL oh removal, my doing.

When I found em for $2 a pop, deemed it a cake DIY. The thought never ever crossed my mind for warranty because it was so goddamn trivial.

I see a lot of upset brownies who expect a lot for free. Hell, $1.16 IN CANADA and he was pissed. There is no helping him. CPe employee followed protocol. Chunie did his job.

If anything, 99 cent store small bottle of Krazy Glue or Gorilla Glue could have had the op repairing it since it all came out. Mine were stuck in and I suffer from nce. But unsupportive op cannot take care of himself, only act as a keyboard warrior over a $1.16 part.

My head hurts from the fail here.

Hope the op does not break a pto or diff mount. Mazda is never gonna hear the end of it.

My mutant Corksport SRI with a SU elbow has no bracket. Just pure JBR sex keeping the engine firm, like my penis. It goes nowhere.

To be fair, those rubber isolators weren't always part of Cobb's SF Intake. I had to contact them well after the fact to get a set for my early-ish release intake after I noticed they revised things (which they did after a rash of battery tray supports breaking from stress).

The bracket used to just bolt directly to the MAF housing.

Possibly a new addition. I think it might be related to the complaints they had of that one thin metal bracket breaking.

Perhaps messaging them or posting in their section would be a wise step.

This is in their section? lol

I've also sent another email to their support and info addresses asking for someone.

I realize this is an ancient problem which I've already had resolved by edgeautosport (who kick ass) ... but them censoring shit because they want to hide their failure just pissed me off again.

Or maybe picking up the phone?

Your signature suggests you've done a fair amount of business with them; if the first they hear about your problems is Facebook, well, I really can't fault them for banning you. Clearly you are trying to do something other then convince them that you have a claim on merit alone, by doing this on facebook you are more likely trying to get them to 'shut you up' by doing whatever the hell it is you think is right. The original post was over a fucking 2 dollar piece of rubber; one much like the item I received with my K&N SRI, I destroyed that in the first 5 minutes of use; 20 minutes or a day later I was at home depot purchasing another, I did not think it was their fault and that was with a brand new part, yours looked like it had seen a fair amount of use and it did what it was supposed to.

Have you seen the movie "Better off dead" ? I couldn't help but to think of that punk paperboy chasing the main character screaming 'I want my 2 dollars'.

Anyhow, way to revive a dead fucking topic; thanks for reminding me unsub.

I didn't even start this thread until they had already told me no over email. They should have done it right then. They started ignoring my email at that time too.

It was a matter of principle and still is...home depot here doesn't carry these things, nor does almost anyone locally, believe me I tried. Either way, it didn't fail on my doing...the item was installed properly but was not up to the job of holding the intake in place, poor design.

Thanks.

I'd even just like a real explanation of why they wouldn't help out a customer on such a minor item, it's not like I was asking them to replace my intake or anything...it was just a rubber isolator. Pop one in the mail and you've got a happy customer instead of telling them screw off it's a wear item and you can buy a new one and said customer spreading bad words about their company all over the mazda community. Nowhere in the LIFETIME warranty did it say the mounting hardware was a wear item (hell, what mounting hardware is EVER a wear item?).

@someguy; We've gone through a lot of turn over here. Not that this is an excuse, but we are sorry that you had to go through this experience.
Please email us at team@cp-e.com and even though Edge took care of you, THANKS GUYS!!, we will send you another isolator bushing incase this new one breaks.
Mr Wilson likes this.

Thanks. The other one lasted a couple years but the rubber it was made of just deteriorated and broke...not quite sturdy enough for the job.

This is what I expected out of cp-e (or any other company that the MSF community endorses). It's a minor part but a company should stand behind their products, especially when purchased new, never abused, properly installed, etc.

It was the principle of it more than anything when it has a lifetime warranty. I just expected one to be popped in the mail and I wouldn't have to find the local grainger, go there once and try to explain shit to them, have them fumble with ordering it, then waiting a week for it to come in, then going back and getting it. They don't carry these things anywhere locally, up in Canada it's a smidge harder to find this stuff. Why should that be my problem if the part is covered? Email manufacturer, provide proof of purchase and photos of broken item, they send one out, job done.

I've heard back more positive things from cp-e...we'll see where it goes.

I'm just glad my first issue was a broke isolator and not say my fuel pump or downpipe...who knows what would have happened them *knock on wood*

Last week, I lost a JBR solid bushing (or my cat did) that I bought from a friend... I asked if if he would sell me just one, he said no, but I'll mail you out one for free this afternoon, no worries. THIS is why I will get all my parts that I buy new from JBR. I FEEL GOOD sending him money. I know he will stand behind what he sells and is one of us.

On a side note, my cpe75dRMM is failing after just under two years.. I will be ordering a JBR-88 next week to replace.

JBR really sets the standard for what is expected from other MSF vendors, to that I say cheers and thank you.

Yes sorry, I had a very busy weekend. I just sent an email to team@cp-e.com with my info (including the rest of the email chain with your team).

This is the reason i hate my job as a customer service rep manager some days it is people like you who make us hate our job over the littlest shit. i have literally spent over 1800.00 with cp-e and the only issue i have that i deal with is a rattle in my exhaust every now and then but thats ok its only a 1000.00 dollar exhaust not some bullshit 1.16 part. good luck in the future but i will always support cp-e as they have been top notch with me and purchases.

Matt
Bucker likes this.

The little bullshit part is still a part of my $270 intake. Your rattle is just a piece of your $1000 exhaust too.

+1 on the 88 rmm
