cp-e™ FullControl™ Flash Removal First and foremost, Custom Performance Engineering, Inc. is VERY sorry that this matter has taken the amount of time that it did. We have been working very closely with Cobb Tuning to provide a universal solution to this issue. After reviving a computer that was thought to be beyond repair and digging through old hex files from years ago, we were able to provide COBB with the information needed to unlock the cp-e™ flashes. We are now VERY happy to announce that with the new firmware update on the AP, both v2 and v3, the AccessPort WILL be able to remove all cp-e™ FullControl™ Flashes and you will be able to tune with the AP. Special thank you to Trey Cobb. Firmware release versions are: 1.6.7.0-6842 (V2) 1.7.0.0-6853 (V3) |

I have to say, this is fantastic news. Not only for the people stuck with these old flashes, but also for CP-e stepping up, working with Cobb AND also rightfully apologizing. Here, here to CP-e. |
Good job guys. |
Great news for the affected people! It may have been a long road to recovery, but I'd say that end result is the best solution they could have come up with. Just my .02 though... just tappa it in... |
I followed this issue from right about the beginning with no skin in the game. I'm glad to see they got things sorted out. |
Might be a dumb thought but, what if the people trying to remove it don't have or plan on buying an ap? |
good to hear. |
Pretty sure i called the solution weeks ago. Good job CPe for getting this taken care of. |

Or, you're just SOL. |
Sounds like CP-E needs to start renting AP's for free (with a full deposit to cover the cost of the AP until it gets returned to them unmarried) to FullControl (NoControl?) customers such that they can remove their ECU cancer. Free shipping both ways naturally. |

im on my way out to the car to see just how well this has worked. i will also update my OP about this issue. I know me and CP-E haven't seen eye to eye on this whole issue and have butted heads several times but i would like to publicly accept the apology that CP-E has offered me. and all is well in my book. now i just need to get one of their intake manifolds!!! |
WORKS!!!!! YEAH!!!! |
Good news, thanks for the update CP-E. Now to find a good deal on a Cobb AP v3. |

If the situation arises that someone wants them removed and does not have or does not want to buy an ap we will handle the situation accordingly. |
^^^^ see they do have good customer service. its just like an onion sometimes, and u got da cry thru some of the layers |
Does this fix also work with Piasini tunes? |
I heart cp-e |
wow this was def worth the wait to have it integrated with the AP rather then having to send your SB in and your car being down!!!! great job cpe!!!! |

Definitely, sucks that I had to ship my ECU last year to my Piasini tuner in Canada to get the lock removed. Oh well. Glad you guys found a much better solution. One question I have is, when you marry the Cobb AP, does it pull whatever map is on the car at the time, remove the lock, and put it's own map on? When you go ahead and unmarry the Cobb AP, would that mean that the original Piasini tune get put back on (without the lock)? Or will it use a know good working map? |
