Actually yes! I'm working on a 3.25" and 3.5" housing option as I type this.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'd be down for the bigger housing. Would it by chance be including an MAF scaler like your V6 intake, or will we have to tune for that with the standback or the like? Only way I could get the inlet is if it could be 3.5 all the way to the turbo, at least as an option. That's gonna be the inlet size of my new turtle and you can't really use a coupler on a silicone tube, lol. |

The problem with big MAF housings like 3.5" is that idle quality goes to hell when the housing gets bigger because the signal gets noisier. So we're going to try to make a 3.5" housing work, but it may not idle all that great. If we have to we can try bumping up the idle speed though...

| Not Ranked : 0 score Have you thought of putting a partial cone in before the sensor, directing X% of the airflow through it? That wouldn't be restrictive enough to impede on high-flow situations, but it would keep the right amount of air going through the sensor. Like this. (b being the tip of the sensor, v being the cone) ___ b< ___ |

We could do that but I honestly think the diameter is overkill for anything anyone is building these days. The 3.25" MAF is good for over 1000cfm, or just under 700hp before the sensor maxes out. I guess if guys really wanted bigger we could do it though.
Was that a C&L piece? I used one of those on an old Mustang of mine and I didn't have quite as much success

| Not Ranked : 0 score It worked fine on the evos until the ecu got cracked. People still run intakes like that though without any tuning. The sensor just has to see a specific percentage of the air going through the intake. Another option that the subby guys do is to go to a push-through sensor and put it in the cold pipe. Lets them run whatever size intake they want. Hell, even an open turbo inlet with no filter. I think the SRT guys are doing that too now. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score OK, I did a bit of research. According to the vendors on NASIOC, The Denso 5V MAF sensor that they have (same as ours I beleive) is good for up to a 3.25" diameter pipe with a recalibration. 3.5" gets too hectic. BUT, it also happens to work BETTER as a blow-thru MAF, when placed in the cold pipe. I think I'm gonna try that out with the specifications they gave me to see how it works.

On the Mazda, if CP-e could design a sample tube, it will relieve the idle syndrome for a big meter. As pointed out, Fords use this and their are no idle issues because of it. It will add a bit more restriction in the system however. You can also convert it to a blow through design on the cold pipe for those big turbo guys, but it would require bigger pipes and an extension harness. C&L had a smart idea with interchangeable sample tubes ( for injector sizes ) but their engineering was pretty pathetic and caused some drivability issues as you built the car up. This could be tuned out changing the MAF scaler in most of the available software out for the EEC-IV. CPe is able to do the same with their standback so it might be a pretty neat R&D project. Either way, a new meter will be needed for these higher power guys. You can only tweak the stock MAF so much. A 3" wouldn't be a bad starting point for them.

| Not Ranked : 0 score fuck me i would be interested too if reasonably priced... also interested in the turbo inlet, would like to see how the recirculation hose would meet into it, and see a good inlet that could be used with stock battery. big turbo bolt up abilities would have me sold on the inlet!!!

| Not Ranked : 0 score Perfect timing for CP-e to bring this to market IMO. The Cobb unit so many people are waiting on seems cursed with production issues. People seem to be lining up to buy them too. I know I've been waiting for a quality SRI since Dec of 06 for the speed6. Priced even close to what the Cobb intake is and I'll be one of the first to order. |
