| Not Ranked : 0 score What has to be understood by anyone tuning this car is that in these GDI engines, you have to be very careful about how fuel and air is delivered. They are inflexible to changes since there is little wiggleroom in how the air/fuel mixture is created on the top of the piston right before the spark plug is fired. |

i think the philosophy is an interesting one but not accurate. the limitations have more to do with quirky mazda engineering in the ecu, in the sensors, weak rods necessitating a built motor, in the flow design of the head perhaps. but the bottom end is just displacement. if i can fill it with air, spark and fuel then power can be made. its all the other bullshit thats stood in our way. I REALLY expect a breakthrough moment for us here. VWs were stuck down around us for years and then when they figured out a fueling solution to go along with the tuning..... boom... they made 600whp. I am hoping for a similar experience with our cars here. if we make power up to the limit of the fuel... i think we could see 450-500whp spraying meth. thats what im hoping for here guys. | |

Stoichiometric air-fuel ratio for methanol is about 6.4:1. If you are running significant amounts of methanol you need to aim for a lower total AFR to keep from going lean. For example if you are supplying 30% of your total fueling with Meth you need to aim for something closer to: 12*0.7 + 6.4*0.3 = 10.3 AFR. Good luck. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score just to make sure.. everyone is coming down this saturday the 31st right? the wife and i are going to swing by the shop on our way to the rockville earth trecks for some climbing... so what time does everyone plan on being arround the shop? i also just got my first overtime check for the year so i'll have a bit of money to spend if i see something worth it!
