There is a lot going on, but anyone interested in P3 lending a hand with install work please shoot me a pm..or better yet here: cherryspeed@p3performance.net We will do our best, along with Jordan and the crew form CPE, to be good hosts to anyone that would like to come. We would be happy to show you around our infant shop and answer any questions you may have. We plan on being in the shop from about 9am to 7pm on Saturday. Sunday is tenative, but a good guess would be from 10am to about 1pm. Please remember though, there will be some serious work going on this weekend and Randy's car will need close attention...so you can look at the animals, but please do not feed them it only distracts them from there task....lol. Oh bonus, we now have a nice TV, cable and a PS2 at the shop...GT3 anyone? |

I will eventually get down there and will get in touch as I want a P3 built motor for my car as I just picked up a 3071 and im probably getting in over my head...well I always have being that this is the first car ive modded. Aiming for ~11.5-12:1 is old school assuming non-DI and gas only in FI applications. As a rule of thumb this works quite well. The GN guys that run ~40% of their fueling with Meth have to aim much lower than 12:1 due to the simple stioch chemistry... What is ideal for our DI with large amounts of Meth? I have no clue. I also have no clue what % of their total fueling people are currently running with meth on MS3's currently. I just wanted to point out that 12:1 isn't a panacea, but applies to a specific set of assumptions that doesn't include significant % of total fueling coming from meth. I blew my last 5.0 motor partially due to aiming for 11.5 AFR when running approx 30% fueling from meth. The more you know... | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score My point, for the last year, has been that one should be extremely careful when leaning out you car with Meth, ie..tuning for Meth, because if you have a failure at WOT with your Meth system...You will not save your engine from serious damage...So basically my rant boils down to using Meth to offset high IAT's and not really tuning for it. Unfortunately so many people tune for it, which is cool too, but they need to be aware that 11.5 on Meth is probably 17-19 AF/R without it...(I'm guessing here but you get the point) and when the unthinkable, outside of the backup systems and bla bla technologies that are available to monitor it, happens your going to burn something up sure as shit. I'd stay in the 10.5 to 11 range if possible. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm just saying..both of you are ones I want to be the most up front with on what can happen..it goes really really quick and I'm sorry the only thing that could possibly save the engine is an straight iginition pause/kill but it all happens so very quick..I'd hate to think even that would do it... There is a golden rule when tuning...good safe power. Meth should be considered a safety net for running high boost and alieving knock, not a power adder...but that's my philosophy. |

in the pursuit of power on these engines, where fuel is so precious. you WONT make the numbers without tuning for meth to some extent. and if something bad happens..then 2.6l stroker here i come. thats paying to play at the level im choosing with this car. now that P3 stroker engine id be alittle more cautious with perhaps....lol heres the plan.... map1... the map we drive around on.... no meth at first...turn up boost and tune until we hit 12.5 on 93. turn on meth... done. map2... the map we make the number all meth, all the time... keep turning up boost, and tuning until we hit the 12.0. done. post graph. turn standback back to map 1....in the spring we retune, add some more fueling mods if they are available and use this map at the track. isnt that what evrybody does? | |
