1. its too loud
2. she thinks its ridiculous.... that i bought the gti, and have had a rental dodge caliber with maryland plates parked in the driveway for the last 3 weeks.

I'll give her a kiss before i leave. She was the winning lottery ticket. And shockingly, with the four kids in tow..... still hot as hell.

No worries, like we discussed, if she leaves you over the 3 i will marry you, and then everyone wins..........i think. I think we might have to leave our home state of NC for this one though...they frown on that bromance shit. Lol keep up the good work randy.

Quick question...

How close is your medievel mani to your alternator? The reason I ask is one thing I have noticed during my build is with my Top-mounted turbo, being sexy as shit, the 1st and 2nd runners are super close to my Alternator plastic. It's really hard plastic and I would imagine it has to be pretty resistant to high temps, but fabbed a heat shield that would sit between the two just in case. I really only have the stock mani as a reference to how close it was to the alternator, but I was wondering if you guys were even worried bout it...

Anyone else out there with CPBoost Top mounted turbo? SSinstaller? Thoughts?

it wasnt of concern. i am concerned in general with the heat that will be generated, but i want a number first. im gonna pull it off the minute i get back to nc and have it coated. jet hot is 15 minutes away from me. for now, weve taped and wrapped as much as we can.... the screamer pipe makes contact with the plastic brether on the alternator, and bumps against the ac line that runs through the back corner of the engine bay.

the screamer were still working on... i dont like placement with the medieval mani at all. at this point it rattles obnoxiously against the frame, contacts too much shit, and dumps out right around where the axle is.

were gonna work on that. one way or the other its either gonna have to be routed out the side fender, to the front of the car over the engine, or back towards the exhaust outlet. with the placement of the ewg, and the alternator, it makes the most obvious solution(the exhaust outlet) damn near impossible.

My shop is still dragging ass on my build so it's not even mounted in the car yet... But, I remember Carlos telling me that his manifold has that runner 1 inch closer to the alternator than the stock manifold did....I don't imagine it will cause any problems, but I might end up making a heat shield as well..

mine is alot closer but not to the plastic. closer to the heatshield on the alternator itself. were just going to reinforce it.

I'm not concerned about that runner against the alternator. I'm more concerned about the O2 sensors touching that runner..we have them heat wrapped but that's a GHETTO "fab"ulous temporary fix.

Not long at all man, i used the 5 min jb weld to hold it together. than i used the real stuff.... its been on there through hell and high water now. I'll show you pics, as soon as I get that 1.1 bar spring. i think the only thing keeping it together is the dei header wrap. i mangaed to bend it so it fits between the block and the firewall. it dumps below the car almost near the hotchis sway bar.

I really need to make and offer a screamer pipe for those that buy the manifold. I have left it to the end user to build one and think it might be a good idea to start producing one.

The manifold will fit both MS3 and MS6. The stock turbo location does not change with the manifold.

my wife is very practical. and truly, if not for her, this car wouldnt exist. We have a good marriage because she allows this nonsense with only a small amount of hassle. To this day her greatest complaints are...
1. its too loud
2. she thinks its ridiculous.... that i bought the gti, and have had a rental dodge caliber with maryland plates parked in the driveway for the last 3 weeks.

I'll give her a kiss before i leave. She was the winning lottery ticket. And shockingly, with the four kids in tow..... still hot as hell.
Randy, tell your wife "thanks" from all of us. You sure hit the lottery w /her. Of course, you probably make enough money that the MS3 project is sort of a "minor distraction" compared to everything else.

The number one goal of Palerider is to promote the modifying of MS3 cars for increased performance and (legal) racing. On this site, image and styling takes a back seat to substance and real world performance - more tech, less fluff. The catering to the performance enthusiast, promoting the sharing of information and ideas regarding modifications, parts, and the results of those modifications. We are an inclusive community.
I take my hat off to you Palerider.

So this update/project thread = total fail.

Im pulling my troubled motor out of the car. This motor isnt gonna get it done. Im going with a P3 build from the ground up. This is going to raise alot of questions, but Im not going to answer them. Sorry....
The one thing i will say is that the motor in the car was never right from the start. i suspected it, everybody around it suspected it, and this project exposed it. Im only guilty of ignoring it perhaps. Much to CPE/P3's relief, that wont be happening any longer.

I dont blame Ken, I dont blame Mark Riley, i dont blame P3 for the latest issues, and Im not going to blame myself.....Ive just got to pull the motor and thats that. Im confidant that P3 can handle the job on the new one.

No more threads like this from me..... when its done its done. I'll post about my car then. Its been 9 months, we can wait a little longer. Im still confidant in the platform, lets be clear about that. 500whp is still the goal. Im just having to start over again. Thats that...

ok....lets lock this motherfucker.
