(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So i am installing my cpe FMIC at the moment and have hit a few speed bumps, so im calling for anyone who has done this. 1) it seems to me that the instructions that cpe provides contradict the kit i am putting on, specifically on the final cold pipe going into the throttle body (the one with the BOV flange on it). It says put the "expanded side" of this piece into the throttle body(coupler). this would make the BOV flange very close to the throttle body, which is not the way it is pictured in the instructions. the instructions would lead me to believe the BOV flange should be right nest to the shifter... 2) what is the accordion looking thing in the drivers side fender wall ( right where both of the IC pipes look like they should go) and does it need to be removed/relocated for the pipes and couplers to have clearance? these pics are probably huge, im sorry for that, thanks for any input... -dane

| Not Ranked : 0 score i believe you want the expanded side near the TB because the TB is larger than the size of the pipe. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score You've got the right idea damems6. The expanded part of the pipe is going to slip into the throttle body as Bova said. I'll have to take a look at the instructions and see why that's not consistent! The accordion thing is the power steering cooler, and the pipes should be able to wrap around it without any issue. If you have any fittment issues after you get all the pipes in place feel free to post some more pics and I'll help point you in the right direction. Edit: Ahh, I see what happened. The instructions have a picture of the original bypass valve flange design, which was later relocated so we could accommodate more bypass valves. I'll make sure that mistake is changed. Thanks for bringing it to our attention! |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score alright.. an update... its on. the power steering cooler. ya they fit around it with the proper adjustment, so i was just being a n00b on that. the BOV cold pipe, i really dont feel like too much of a n00b on that on because the instructions, and the fact that it almost doesnt fit in with the rest of the kit properly, and my shifter weight is hitting it (if i pop the hood and try to pull it away, it seems ok for a little while) overall i was not impressed with the entire setup and how everything had to be done. i was missing three clamps which i used from my stocker. (luckily because the provided ones werent fitting around the throttle body anyway) the allan screws for everything were a bit difficult, and i dont like the way you have to remove the stock splitter (only to put in the mounting bracket which is pretty beefy.) i might just be a newb, but i couldnt get my stock recirc hose to my BOV ( i usually run BPV), and i tried to used the provided one but it wouldnt fit on my inlet pipe, and would barely fit on my HKS recirc fitting (my stock one was very loose on this fitting)... i let my car warm up for a bit and i took her for a drive.. i went to about ten PSI before the coupler on the turbo blew off and my thing was free spooling. (luckily i brought a flashlight and tools with me ) thats my fault though for not tightening it enough. cpe- thanks for fixing the instructions... and it sure would have helped for better pictures/ a little more instruction. taking the bumper off was the easiest part and that where most of the instruction was!!!

Intercooler piping almost always has a decent amount of room for adjustments to be made by pulling, pushing, twisting, etc. as needed.

| Not Ranked : 0 score every time i have built a car you want the bov / bpv as close to the throttle body as possible. efficiency is the key for that.

im glad you finally got it on and your comments are greatly appreciated. im sure a point has been taken to update it and make it more user friendly. those seem like simple, but awful legitimate concerns. btw...you seriously were missing three clamps? that shocks me actually. | |
