Default Firmware update gets stuck

I've been pretty happy running an OTS map for more than a year, but I've decided to fine tune my car a little more after reading Abilor's excellent tuning guide and seeing all the success that has come with boost tuning due to Dano and dj, et al. So, it had been awhile since I had updated my AP's firmware. I downloaded the new APManager 2.0.1.5, and I've tried to use it to bring my AP up to date, but when I try to do so, it goes all the way through the process, then just continuously states that the AP is verifying files. My current firmware is version 1.5.0.0.

Also, I guess there's a new ATR that I need to toggle boost targeting. Can anybody point me in the right direction for either of these issues? Thanks in advance.

Bump, somebody's gotta know what's going on here. I'm working on a Vista PC, ATR works fine on it, but could that be the issue with the new firmware?

You might get a quicker response if you post on cobb's forums, or try calling them...

I thanked you, because at least you offered some advice. However, my thread over there is as dead as this one. I was hoping someone had experienced the same problem and knew the solution, but it appears my problem may be unique. I'll keep trying and call Cobb as you suggested.

Sorry, I haven't followed through on it yet, but I did get them on the phone. They told me to send it in for warranty service, no cost. They opened a ticket on it, and sent me a warranty service e-mail, which I printed out, filled out, and set aside. I've yet to find it, lol. I'll be mailing out some stuff this week (gifts for relatives) so I'm going to at least find the e-mail and print it again since I'll be heading to the post office anyway.

cool. Same here man.

Tried troubleshooting multiple things on the phone, ended up sending it to them saying that it was most likely software related and wouldnt be charged, unless it was something else, in which case theyd let me know.

Good luck on urs. Ill let u know wheni get mine back

@mysleeper6
@super_pablo_

So what was the end result with this issue. Both of your were having the exact issue, down to the details, that i am having right now with updating the firmware. Ive emailed Cobb tech support, called numerous times with no response from either or. Im not sure where to go from here. What resulted in both of your issues?

Hey, sorry lost track of this thread.

I sent my AP in, Cobb updated the software (and replaced the screen) all free of charge. Its been performing flawlessly ever since I got it back. The only question I have is related to my OEM map. Everytime I open AP Manager, it prompts me that no stock tune was found; i should uninstall and re-install and not skip saving the stock map. Well, I know there's no stock map on my ECU, and there's no stock tune on the AP either. Sort of wondering how I would divorce the car and the AP, or go back to stock if I ever sold the car...

tl,dr: Call Cobb. Send in AP. Free fix.

No worries Sleeper.

Much appreciated for your response. I have been trying vigorously to get in contact with someone at COBB or at least get a response of some sort. Guess i will need to keep trying until they decide to look towards my direction. thanks
