Default Advice on touch up paint?

A tornado threw a tree at my 08 MS3 several months ago. I paid the deductible and got excellent paint work done at a local body shop to fix her up.

Of course, 2 weeks later I notice a paint chip in my passenger door about half the size of a dime.

It's small enough that it doesn't justify another visit to the paint shop (and it's not on a panel that they painted) but I do want to get rid of it. I ordered some touch up paint from Amazon but I have never applied touch up paint on a car before so I was just soliciting some advice from someone who has.

Thank you for your time and any advice is welcome!

Here is the paint that I bought:

It's hard to make it look nice. I've done it a few times. I would fill in the chip than sand with super fine grit sand paper than polish like crazy.

Do a search for Dr. Colorchip on youtube. You'll find a whole bunch of step by step guides.

if you do end up touch painting yourself, be sure to clean the area with rubbing alcohol real well. only apply with even brush strokes enough to fill the area then wait and let dry completly before adding more. most touch up paint is enamel based and shrinks alot once it dries. also keep some rubbing alcohol and a rag ready in case you add to much or want to start over.

Thanks for all the replies guys! Once I get around to this, I'll be sure to update with some before/after pictures.

Since this is such a small area, I'll give the touch up paint a go. It came in today.
