it might be a few pounds lighter, i doubt more than 8 to 10 lbs lighter.
sitting at a light you can see serious heat pouring out from the turbo and fullrace exh mani.

my turbo looks rusty enough without water dripping on it...does it not rain much in a state that doesn't exist.

ive made so many changes lately, both jmf and fullrace manifolds, wesicos/k1s, widepath cai, bnr, thermal gaskets, ported head, cpe catback, plus getting tuned by atvfreek.
there isnt much for me to compare against.
i can see the heat leaving though.
i usedto open the hood everytime i got home, dont have to anymore. should reduce the amount of heatsoak some

You need to put a drip pan or something underneath it. Jeep Cherokee guys learned this the hard way.

Looks like the vent off of a 84-87 dodge shelby

You need to add the shield to deflect the water

Do you have the rear weather stripping removed? I can see a ton of heat pouring out of there but I imagine this is leaps and bounds above that. As far as water in the engine bay, there are several Gen2's who remove the ducting and just let nature take its toll on the engine bay and it doesn't seem to have too much of an effect... personally my ducting is still in place because I like the idea of directing that air onto the cylinder head to cool it off.

I've always wanted to add a vent but I feel on the Gen2 hood it would
A. look stupid with the hood scoop
B. Serve no purpose since there's already a giant hole there.

That might actually cause more harm than good. The whole goal of vents in the hood is to create a negative pressure zone to pull air out. The design on that hood might have the opposite effect of upsetting the designed underhood airflow and trap more heat in.

I'm not a fluid dynamics expert though.

on a gen2,, maybe.
the fins on my vent are angled and rear facing so air going over it pulls air out.--/l/l/l/l/l--
