Default 17x8 Black RPF1 +45

first time ive ever sat around in a tire shop with a boner. rides like a dream with the grip of a whore. 17x8 +45 with 235/45 extremecontact DW. yeah, 17x9 looks baller too, but they stick out a little too much for me. no rubbing at all, so far, and i've hit some pretty good bumps. koni's set a half turn from full stiff all the way around.

Rokusek and donjohnk like this.

Yeah, only missing the center caps. Maybe red lugs and the red caps make it really look good. But yeah 17x8 equals a lot less stress then the 17x9, I didn't want to worry about needing the camber adjusted or rubbing the front or anything else. The wheels make all the difference with this car.

I chose to skip the center caps. Enkei shipped me a set for free after getting dicked around for a month with a backorder. I have since painted the hubs with a matching black and it looks much better. I don't like how much those caps stand out on the black.

Ya they do stick out a bunch would have been better if they would have been a flat cap or something a little shorter.

Finally rubbed a little on the driver side rear, though it took 4 people, trunk loaded with luggage, 70 mph, and a massive cliff from I5 construction going from new to old pavement. No damage, just rub mark on tire tread surface.

Is the back rolled at all? Looks great btw! Red was my first choice but couldn't find one, so I ended up with black mica.

Looks good! This may be the route I may go with for my wheel setup. So you're on lowering springs and needed no fender work?

Correct, none of my fenders are rolled at all. navyspeed3, above, is on the same setup, but with gold.

Looks great mate. I've got the 17x9 rpf1's but stock height. Got coilovers to go in soon but have the same concerns you did..
Like the ride height you have got with them though!

These are them:

I really like the look of the 9 inch, and wish the flatter spoke was available on the 8 inch. But, I'm still 100 percent happy with my purchase. Even though the rpf1 is owned by everyone and their grandma, I still get lots of comments about it looking mean as hell, which the pictures just don't show as well.

Yeah I bet it looks even better in person. Loving the chunky sidewall on the 17" too. Gives that extra racy look with the Enkeis. Awesome wheels

thats another reason i went with the 8", i wanted a 235/45 tire, and i feel they fit on an 8" wheel a little better.

another nice thing, which has been mentioned before, is that less wheel and more tire gives a quieter, less jarring ride.

That looks great. I will be doing the same except going Silver RPF1's in 17x8 45 offset and 235/45's on a Red Speed 3 with coilovers.

Yeah I will definitely do so. I can get a deal on a set of 17" Toyo TEO 235/45's. I am not very knowledgeable on Tyre choice but I did some research on these and they seem to have good ratings.
