Default Headlight auto level sensor

Hi guys hope you can help my headlight leveling link on the front has snapped i tried cold weld a while back but has failed again, mazda dont sell the links separately unfortunately, is there an easy way to replace this with?

I've found a company who sell angled joint so retaining the ball joint part and using a threaded rod cut to length might be my solution, just waiting to hear back from the comapny for thread size fittings.

With regards to the sensor itself, how do I know if the sensor is shot once the rod is fixed? I tried just turning the sensor till the flashing AFS light went off but I couldn’t find the original point where it was set
