Strut placement in knuckle

Could someone tell me how deep the front struts are supposed to sit in the knuckles ?

I installed Koni yellows and Eibach lowering springs about six months ago, and I just noticed my ride height is off between the front passenger and driver side. The passenger side is lower by about 3/8 of an inch.

The passenger side is sitting deeper in the knuckle than the driver side. I am not sure which one is correct though.

m worried the passenger side bracket may be damaged which is causing it to sit lower. See photos for details.

The strut should have a tab on the side that slides down into the slot on the back side of the knuckle. The cross bolt should be put in loosely and then push the strut down until that tab rests against the bolt. Then torque the bolt.

That’s for Bilsteins. Your Konis may have a curved arc in the tab. If so, simply center that arc so the bolt passes through.

Have you bent or damaged one of those tabs? If so, just make the strut on the bent one the same depth as the other one, if it is resting on the cross bolt.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I don't know which side is wrong though. As far as I know neither tab are damaged.

I will double check and make sure both are resting on the bolt. Its probably the issue that the one in the photo that is not all the way down in the knuckle is not low enough on the bolt.

Will do some investigation tomorrow and report back.

Just wanted to follow up on this.

The driver side strut was not deep enough in the knuckle.

The bottom of the strut should sit flush or just below the strut knuckle. I didn't spread it far enough apart on the original install. My ride height is now even on both sides

I'm too late, but I was going to say that "the bottom of the strut should sit flush" with the knuckle.

I couldn’t find a consensus on if we need to modify Koni Yellow mounting tabs to get an even ride height front and rear. I’m seeing a lot of posts stating that their fronts are higher by an half inch then the rears. Is this true for you?

I found lots of posts regarding The need to modify Koni FSDs but nothing on the yellows. Also, it looks like all the pics that outline the FSD modification have been lost so I can’t see what was actually changed.

I’m in the middle of Koni Yellow + Swift Spec R’s and would appreciate any input. While I’m at it. It seems like people “tomas” have been cutting stock bump stops by one bump. Any input on that from you guys?

I will take some measurements for you, but my rears are definitely sitting a little bit lower.
Visually, it doesn't look like a 1/2 inch maybe 1/4.

I replaced my rear bump stops with these from GroundControl. I used the ones that are for Stiff Struts. The OEM ones were falling apart once I took them out.
