Wow, I've been toying around with the DBW/APP tables to get a good peppy feel to the speed. Snail did a great job with this and has saved me a ton of time.
This is exactly what I wanted.
Thanks!

Well considering that a friend of mine totaled his Speed 3 and then bought an 09 Civic SI, I wanted to show him how much of a mistake it was, haha.

I seem to notice that a lot of people have a hard time driving speeds with short shift plates and 6 puck clutches.

@snailD; does this fix keep the car in closed loop?

throttle doesn't have much to do with closed loop/open loop. so it all depends on what settings you have for the closed loop tables and how heavy your foot is

Woooo not for me haha

This really exacerbated the jerkiness accompanied with a PnP manifold on cold starts..like barely driveable.

Also, taking off from a stop I would have to ride thehclutch more than I'd like or end up launching haha. As soon as I would 'lightly' tap on the gas going into second I would feel like I'm already > 50% APP

I do like the rev matching but I'll definitely have to tweak mine as it's barely driveable at the moment.

Thanks for sharing, SnailD

For the canyons and rev matching these tables feel great.

I would like a little more lag at the low end to slow acceleration while attempting to stay within the local speed limits, haha.

What would be the best way to adjust for this?

By a "little more lag" I'm assuming you meaning a little more 'dead pedal' prior to it ramping up?

You just need a few extra values in the first few cells, like where it says 1.69 for the first gear- first populated cell: you'll need a lower value there and likely for the next few cells.

Thanks, that I'd exactly what I mean. Woukd it be best to adjust each gear? I want to maintain the smoothness of shifting while slightly increasing the dead pedal.

Personally, I would decrease the first few values by a little to decrease the rate of acceleration- just keep in mind gear 2 and above do not need as much of a 'dead area' in the first few fields as you're not riding the clutch as much ie starting off.

Wow, first gear was nuts. I think the throttle is already touchy, this makes it more so. Any time I touched the pedal it was like it was floored. I reverted back to OTS, but I may try to make first gear a little more to my liking. The rest of the gears were mostly ok. You cant help but speed with those settings

I don't get what all the fuss is about. I don't have any jerking or difficulty with the changes. Definitely love these settings. Reminds me of how it felt with the larger throttle body on my Cobalt SS, which if you drive with a heavy foot, it won't be fun haha

Starting from a dead stop, gear changes, and rev matching is a hell of a lot smoother than before.

What I don't like is that any more input than barely holding the gas pedal down causes my car to accelerate quickly. No bueno for driving in LA traffic.

The "jerkiness" mainly comes from my PnP mani, these tables make it much more noticeable.

Flashed this set up for about fifty miles yesterday. I liked it a lot but it doesn't match my driving style. It definitely encourages speeding, lol. It's damn awesome on the highway but I was always in boost on the street. I may have to tweak this in the future but for now OEM set up will do. Much thanks for the work put into this @snailD

Ive tried this again, slightly modified. It seems my original issue must have been a bad flash as everything is working as it should.

I just gave these settings about a 20 mile run, and they work absolutely perfect for me. Throttle is much more crisp, rev matching is far easier, and modulating boost is a breeze. Anyone with a bit of finesse in their right foot should like these tweaks.

Thanks a lot @snailD;

Thanks @snailD;!

I just loaded these last night and wow big difference. Way more my driving style. It's a touchy pedal but I prefer it that way. It will take some getting use to but it's a huge improvement.

Of course right after I loaded these some dude in a modded 328i () pulled up next to me and started revving. We raced from a dig and I just lost control of first and second and held on for my dear like. I'm usually good at handling those but man what a difference. I spun like crazy so he got a half a car but once I hit third I had 4 on him then fourth and he was gone. He tried to fly by as I let off and hit my braked but I tapped the pedal again and he was gone again. Tables are awesome.

tl;dr Loaded tables, raced on my first drive and scared the crap out of myself and won the race (tables are awesome!).

haha glad you like it. I made a new one for someone looking for a less intense table, its very linear tho, pretty similar to stock down low without that big dead spot. i'll have to post those up for some people who were looking for a less aggressive table.

That would be great. I like the very aggressive 3rd through 6th. 1st and 2nd are a little too aggressive for my taste so I dialed them back a bit. Haven't loaded the map yet but I'm expecting less loss of control.

I didn't get to use the these for long cause I had to go back to my 91 tune for awhile until I figure out my blow-by problem. But for the few days I used them the less aggressive tables you mocked up for me were awesome. I should copy and paste them into my 91 tune...I'll get on that tonight! Maybe you guys will get lucky and @snailD; will post them!

Posting those tables would be awesome. I am using only your DBW table right now cause the gear tables are just too hyper for me. Not sure what the DBW table effects but I think it improved modulation..especially during cornering...I think?

@snailD; A long time ago I came up with this APP Translation for use with the OTS Cobb tables...Numbs it down and makes it easier to control engine RPM, IMO.

I'd be interested to see what you think about it.

Code:
0.00	0.25	0.50	1.50	3.00	4.50	6.00	7.00	8.00	9.00	10.00	11.00	12.00	13.00	14.00	15.00	20.00	25.00	30.00	35.00	40.00	45.00	50.00	57.50	65.00	75.00	84.00	87.50	90.00	95.00	100.00

Ok, got the tables copied and pasted. There's no excess danger (KR, going lean, or whatever) having more aggressive throttle tables on a 91 tune is there?

Generically speaking, there shouldn't be.

Still, always log after making changes so you can quantify the results and be sure there are no side effects even on the simple things.

no, it is only going to effect the feel, its not going to effect anything else. if you made all the 80's 100's, things would change

Tried the new app table today. It's just what I was looking for, very good throttle delivery and not overly aggressive as the previous. I almost had you point for point with the one I can up with but yours was better down low so I'm keeping it. Thanks again!

Couldn't agree more. This set up is fucking perf.! Just had a ques/observation. @snailD In the OP you posted one APP table for 1st gear, and another for 2nd-6th. On this revision there's only 1 APP table. Is this one for use with all 6 gears because it's a more mild hybrid? Thought people might want to know.

it was just because a full linear app was too aggressive in 1st on the one i use, but i liked the pep in 3rd +. glad the last one fits you guys well. Worked for a bit on it

@snailD are you going to redo the first post so you can display the Pussy and Non-Pussy settings?

Just wanted to say thanks for this. I ended up using the more mild table of the two and love it. I had a lot of fun with the more aggressive table but for a DD, it was better to tame it a tad.

Thanks again for sharing these tables. Car feels great!
