Question Downpipe Supporting Mods?

Hey all, what are the required supporting mods to run a aftermarket downpipe safely, BESIDES the HPFP. I already have the HPFP internals. Anything to replace or beware of when upgrading the down pipe? Thanks!

I wasn't serious about the knob.

Nothing you listed is needed. And there is no such thing as a "better MAF".

Upgrade your blinker fluid.
What people don't realize is that it works with the EBCS too.

People are trying to tell you, OP, that you need to search and read the multiple threads here and educate yourself, rather than expecting to be spoon fed and remain dumb and dependent.

All modifications are interdependent on each other. Some are not compatible with others. There is no quick one size fits all answer for safe and optimal use of an aftermarket down pipe. You seek a quick answer, grab the first one you hear, do it blindly, blow your engine and then blame others.

Read, study, post your present mods and then ask. Do you have a way to data log and monitor? If not, throwing a down pipe, catted or catless, on who knows what other than having an upgraded hpfp, throwing some unknown “tune” on is likely epic fail.

Have the same set up myself. 67000 miles no oil burn no catch can no oil valve before turbo original clutch beat on on it at least 5 times a day daily driver installed it at 45000 miles. And your talking nonsense because, THIS IS A COBB STAGE 3 PACKAGE WITH CUSTOM TUNE.

At your #2 , i was already suspecting that you have no idea of what you are talking about and you confirmed it at .#7 ....

By the way, OP wasn't asking : What else he should install on is car to get more power (or to give more money to cobb) but instead: What are REQUIRED supporting mods....

Blow off valve is a turbosmart. I have boost at 19.5 psi max 11.2 fuel ratio at open throttle. Left timing alone at cobbs stage 3 setting. In a friendly way I live in orlando if your ever down that way love to show you the car. For real ! Because I have always wonderd why I dont burn oil or have had any problems. I dont even have rear motor mount. Maybe my way of driving the car hard isn't enough.Again really I'm always willing to learn. So I apologize for any misunderstanding

Ok i was not aware that Cobb had a joint venture with SU to build an electronic flow meter devices, can you point me out where one can buy it online to see what it look like ?

And according to you, if i plan to run above 19.5psi with a turbosmart bov it wont work? What would happen? the valve will explode ?

I think you are just a bit confused. Let me explain.

Your intake is made by Sure Motorsports. They have a very bad reputation in this community for lack of quality and being a shill.

Your MAF sensor is most likely OEM. When you buy the intake you put your OEM MAF back into it. I promise you Sure never made a MAF for our cars. OEM is the only one known to work reliably.

Your Turbosmart can handle much more than 19.5 psi. That's just where your tune is targeting boost pressure.

I would upgrade the rear motor mount. Adds little to no vibes and will make a big difference in how tight the drivetrain feels.

Secondly get a custom E-Tune from one of the tuners on here. Leaps and bounds better than any OTS (off the shelf) map like Cobbs. I'd go with Freektune but I'm loyal like that.

Good luck.

Take a minute to thanks Thor Hammer above and understand that it was you, that was talking non-sense (not Vansquish). You challenged an old member about basic stuff that much of us know about...

A free tip is to read some hours on this forum, you will understand a lot of things that isn't shown on Cobb and SU online store website.
