Default Refusing To Shift Reverse..

Started the car a few hours before I had to get ready for work. Temp was roughly 30•. Car sat all day sunday in neutral. Clutch in, literally refused to shift into reverse. Luckily I had room to go forward so I threw it into 1st and rolled forward in the garage. Shifted back into neutral, clutched out, re-engaged clutch and went for reverse and still nothing!! No grinding, just a no-reverse-shift-allowed cock block. I didn't want to break the damn shift lever, that's how hard I was pushing.

After a few more tries, finally worked.. Anyone else having difficulty like this?

So I see no one has posted up on this.

Been able to duplicate the issue. If I leave the car parked in 1st Gear with e-brake up, the car refuses to go into to Reverse after sitting for 6+ hours. I have to drop back into neutral, let out clutch, re-engage clutch and shift into 1st where the transmission clunks real heavy, then I can shift into reverse.

Anyone having issues with this in the cold weather states?

Not during cold weather, but I had it happen to me where I couldn't get the shifter in 1st, 2nd, or reverse. And this was immediately after getting home - I noticed it pulling into the driveway.

I got fed up and re-adjusted the shifter linkage as per the jBarone video. Seems to have worked so far.

Currently stock though. Shouldn't need to adjust anything right? I keep imaging i'm going to snap the shifter assembly lol.

I had this happen badly before inside my underground garage...part of the culprit is having the front wheels cocked to one side, while quickly going from 1st to reverse. very similar to the sometimes 1st-gear lock-out....I think it's basically not having the forks aligned or something...anyway, you can try straightening out the wheels or if they're not cocked, let the car roll forward or backward abit, and re-engage.

Wheels were perfectly straight each time. Thanks for the suggestion though. We'll see! Car's sitting in 1st Gear with e-brake, we'll see what happens tomorrow when I leave for work..

You have to push the shifter down.

You're welcome.

Yeah, I don't know what your problem could be - I'm just saying I had a similar experience - mods are a JBarone SSP and a weighted knob, but I can't imagine the weighted knob hurting anything.

I mean, you could give it a try at least - you shouldn't have to adjust the shifter, but then again the shifter should be able to get into reverse so it may be worth a shot.
