Default SWAS - DISCONNECT ON A GEN2

Thanks to @Dano for his writeup. It inspired me to take some pics after doing mine so some of the Pus can know what time it is.
Dano thread for gen1: http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...disable-90739/

This how-to is an extension of the one done by @harryclay so props to him. Heres his thread: SWAS on 2010

1st step: Disconnect negative battery terminal. Pump the brakes a few times to drain all remaining power from the system.

Heres the view on approach.

I only undid the 2 screws underneath the steering wheel and bent them far enough out of the way to get to shit. Use the tilt/telescope and bring the wheel out as far as it will go. This allows the two peices to come farther apart and give you more than enough room to work to get it done.

Heres the area you will be working around.

Undo the little thingy for that holds up the wires. This is to give you more room to work. I found it to be necessary and since it takes 3 seconds...wtf not?

There it is disconnected. Also notice i kept the white harness underneath the yellow harness disconnected to allow more room to work. This probably was unnecessary but fuck it.

This is Harryclay's picture. Shows what the connector looks like disconnected. It is almost impossible to take a good picture of it. But heres the best description i can give you to disconnect it:
1) Use the flathead to undo the latch that keeps it connected. You will come from the left side(engine side) and get it at just the right angle to unlatch it.
2) Use needle nose pliers to grip the connector with your right hand.
3) Simultaneously unlatch the connector with the left hand and wiggle it downward with the right hand.
it will pop out pretty easily.

Note the two yellow lights on the dash that will now be permanantly illuminated. TC/DSC can not be toggled on or off. It is permanantly off. Do this mod at your own discretion.

Tools used. 10mm wrench was to disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Then tuck it back under and button everything up.

Afterwards I went for a drive. Upon returning into my hood i turned the wheel and launched it. It spun...a lot...so there you go. No more traction control and no more SWAS nanny.
