Maybe on the IOS 5.0 but I'm back at 4.0 and I needed to jailbreak to use the wheel contols. Pause and play worked when the phone had factory settings.

There is a slight delay but not as bad as the bluetooth. I haven't tried it at all but I'm pretty sure there would be no way to sync video. I'm pretty sure it is only audio.

What IOS are you on?
I know apple made an update after 4.0 that gave the iPhone better capablilaty with Bluetooth connection. Lots of people were complaining about having cheap phones that displayed contacts and track listing.

Or maybe I just got the shitty iPhone or Mazda...

I'm on 5.0.1, but never had a problem even with an older OS.

I've never had a problem changing tracks with my iPhone, it just doesn't display the info...

ok so I started using my BT audio a few days ago, 2012 non tech Canadian with the bose. 1st day my steering wheels controls worked great song info displayed next morning my steering wheels controls don't work! Phone is a BB9780..... any advice on how to fix?

I'm running iOS6 on a 4s. Same thing. I just pick up my phone if I need to see the song name. Everything else seems pretty flawless.

FWIW, I have full functionality running PowerAmp on my Galaxy S2. Except no track time, but I don't think that works for anyone...

I might give PowerAmp a shot.

I think when I had my moto phones (DX, Bionic) they streamed info fine with the Stock app and possibly Google Play, but Play liked to intermittently pause songs when I hit next.

My Rezound and Nexus did not.

I have the Galaxy S2 (Sprint) and have no problems with Google Play pausing songs when hitting next (thankfully).

It seemed to be a moto issue when using Play when using Blur roms. Worked fine on their stock music app as well as other apps such as WinAmp.

S3 users, how are you getting track info to display? I've tried WinAmp, PowerAmp, and the stock player, but can't get anything to display.

I checked the tags and they all seem to be good. Small sample of songs right now (just 4), so if I need to try anything to manipulate those, I'll give it a whirl.

Controls work fine. Unless I'm misreading this and shouldn't be expecting song/artist info.

2010, non-tech if it matters.

I've got a 2010 canadian w/tech and the BT text doesn't work.

Phone is SGS3. I know the phone will do AVRCP 1.3, as i've gotten the text in a Ford before.

Any one see a way to update the 2010 pos to make it work?

2012 with tech package. SGS3 worked fine stock and works great in CM10 too. Info shows up great.

For some of the others that have it working, what year is your car? Tech/Non-Tech?

Trying to figure out the common denominator.

There is a 2010 Tech that it doesn't work in and a 2012 Tech that it does. There is a 2012 Non-Tech that it did work, now it doesn't.

I've probably answered my own question. Are the 2010 folks just screwed?

Non-Tech 2011.

So an overview of my past phones in the past year:

Motorola Bionic: Blur Rom, stock music and Google Music show metadata. AOSP did as well. With Blur Rom, would occasionally have some weird control issues if skipping a track (would skip then pause, so I would need to hit play)
Galaxy Nexus: Yes with Google Music. Assuming same applies with Jelly Bean.
HTC Rezound: Sense Roms no metadata. CM9 / AOKP yes with Apollo or Google Music.
Samsung Galazy S3: AOSP roms yes with Google Music. I believe yes with Touchwiz rom as well.

Shit. I can't get it to display from my GS3. Not sure what I need to be doing differently. I'm generally not interested in a custom ROM at this point.

Which music application? Since you're stock...try Apollo or Google Play Music.
