Default My review of the UR Turboback (catted) for Genpu

This is the review i sent to UR after the install. I hope it solves future CEL issues with their system...

good morning, i wanted to write and give some feedback on my recent purchases. over the last month i purchased your test pipe, ceramic catted dp and cat back for the 2010 ms3. shipping on all items was really fast. they all arrived within 3-4 days of the orders. packaging, welds and fitment were all as expected. install was much easier then expected. the TP was very simple, DP was much easier than i was told it would be...i thought this would be a horror story from the forums, but i took my time and did it on a lift, alone in 4 hrs. the cat back was also simple to install after some on the phone coaching with the piece that goes over the axle.

now...i did have 3 codes pop up with a check engine light...as the site says, you dont promise to prevent one. i wanted to be sure i figured out and fixed the cause of these codes... i was reading- lean post cat, rear o2 low voltage, rear o2 slow response. these codes were making my car run super rich, afr's and trims were off...and mpg went way down. i ran a few logs and noticed the o2 voltage didnt have any reading at idle or when letting off the gas. my original intent was to drill out the bung after the cat, but after getting back up on the lift, realized this would be near impossible without messing up the threads. so i then decided to seal the rear bung and weld in another. this would put the rear o2 back in the exhaust flow, and since i have a catted dp...should avoid a cat inefficiency code. i now have put almost 50 miles on the new modification...mpg, trims, afr are back to normal for a stock tune, no cel and the car pulls the way i thought it would with an aftermarket turbo back exhaust.

all in all my experience with ultimate-racing has been a great one. i am by no means a mechanic or engineer...but in my personal opinion, for the 2010 mazdaspeed3 with a catted dp, an extended diagonal rear bung will do more bad then good. i have already highly recommended your company on the mazdaspeedforums website and will continue to do so. i have shared my solution on a thread and will be posting my before and after logs this afternoon as proof. i plan on purchasing your fmic kit with crash bar this spring and really appreciate the customer service.

Dan Pare

I sealed up the original rear bung to prevent future leaks. i hope this helps you decide on a purchase. i do recommend this company.

Default New bung

Have you had any more issues (codes) with the UR DP since you relocated the O2 sensor bung?

I am about to install the hi-flow UR DP. Welding on a new bung looks like the best way to go.

its a pretty easy install if you have a lift and no seized bolts.

i ordered mine through CP-E a few weeks back...they just finished their most recent batch yesterday. i should hopefully have it delivered early next week. i dont drive WOT everyday and monitor my fuel rail pressure with my dashdaq. stock pump still handles perfectly. im throwing the hpfp in as a precaution since im also adding an fmic and getting tuned this month.

I am definitely not trying to do that extra task to solve the cel since I have no ability to weld shit haha do you know if this is the case for a lot of people and if I get
It installed by a mechanic would they notice the problem and fix it?

Check Engine Light (P2098)
this is the thread where me and a few others on here had a similar issue, and solved it by changing the angle and length of the bung. its not something a mechanic will notice, and you may not even get a cel for a few days...not until its cold out. if you tell them up front, they may charge you an extra $10 to seal the rear bung and weld in a new one. this wont be something they do without your request though.

Hey man. I think they took this review under advisement. I bought mine earlier this month and the 2nd O2 sensor looks like the one you added, rather than the one sticking out the back.
