Default 2013 Speed3 JBR battery tray
@jbarone;

So I am in the middle of installing my battery tray and I come to the section in the instructions where it says to zip tie the harness to the tray. I scratched my head for a bit and then realized it appears that the holes are in the back, towards the firewall, and not the front. It looks like this box may have been stamped in reverse? Take a look at the pic attached, you can see my tray on the left, and your website image on the right. Am I smoking crack? Help!

My guess is who ever welded it had that plate on backwards.

No, all those edges were folded up the wrong way. That part is cut out of a single piece of metal and all the sides are folded up on a brake before being welded at the vertical corners. This one was just manufactured upside-down.

I'd just drill a new hole too...but the vendor needs to know they're sending out improperly manufactured parts.

It's more than the missing hole, there is a notch at the bottom that allows slack in the positive lead. I won't modify something that I purchased directly from a vendor that I can easily get replaced, period.

It's all good. I posted this for a few reasons:

1. To make sure I wasn't on crack (I have worked well over 50 hours this week and could be slightly retarded because of it).

2. To make others aware if for some reason people start receiving some from the same batch.

3. To see how JBR wants to handle it.

For my situation I would rather have a new poece sent out, install it, and return the defective one. I don't need to drive the car so it can sit until this is sorted out.

A phone call and an email could have resolved the issue rather then starting a thread in which you subsequently answered your own question/concern. This post could have been more of a PSA for what to look out for, for future buyers.

Regardless, if the item is flawed just hold off.

I have no doubt that Jamie will chime in and square you away.

Well...Sure as shit that last batch was formed backwards. I'm actually pretty embarrassed that we didn't catch it.

In any event, we are having the whole batch reformed and the 4 that went out wrong will be replaced.

To those that are reading this,have ordered in the past few days and have yet to receive theirs, DO NOT OPEN THE BOX. I REPEAT>>>DO NOT OPEN THE BOX. IF YOU DO YOU WILL BE PAYING TO SHIP IT BACK. You will be receiving an email with return instructions shortly.

We're human and we make mistakes it's that simple. Let's keep the stupid comments to a minimum.
