Just thought i would let you know that i am in love with this motor mount. It gives the car a really rough start up and deceleration but the car has almost zero torque steer and is so much easier to drive.
JBR likes this.

After about 1k miles, I can barely feel any vibration at all. Noise is there, but I do not mind. Shifting is amazing, especially when combined with JBR SSB.

I posted this on the other thread... this might be a better place.

Quick question.

I was at a friends house and I let him installed the rear motor mount but told him to make sure that he uses the same bolt that goes to the frame per your instructions.

But I am not sure which bolt he used. I think he might have mixed them up.

Is there a way to tell?
Are they the same size?
Also what happens if he did install the wrong bolt?

Looks like the wrong bolt to me, at least on genpus. I have the extra bolt in my hand and the top of it is recessed a little and has a slash in the center " | "

The bolt does look similar though. The threads on the extra bolt don't go all the way down to the tip.

That's why it pays to take a sharpie and write a number on each bolt and on the place it goes on the car.

I wish I had done so.
Let me explain further.

So removed the bushing bolt and the bolt that connects to the transmission bracket. (in the direction - says to make sure these are installed in the correct place).
Added the new motor mount and I am not sure which bolt he uses for the bushing bolt. He says it is the correct one but i'm not so sure.

Then the bolt that was connected to the transmission bracket, he took out as the new rear motor mount already had a bolt in it.

Is this the correct procedure?
Were we suppose to use the bolt that is included with the rear motor mount to connect to the transmission bracket?

I just want to make sure all the bolt are in the right area.

Use the bolt we send for the transmission and the bolt with the little recess for the bushing end is how I believe it should be.

Thanks,
Jamie

Isn't the bolt with the recess the extra bolt you don't use? I think he has it wrong. Just making sure otherwise I did mine wrong...

On the instructions it shows the recessed bolt in there on the stock RMM, and when it's put back together the recessed bolt is gone.

It doesn't really matter as long as they are tight. Let's not over think this.

Just put my 88 Duro on this weekend. Who the F complains about this mount? It's a smidge noisier on start up (almost no difference) and there are noticeable extra vibes between 1000-1500 rpm when brand new. But it feels relatively stock to me from a Vibes standpoint before break in and drives sooooooo much better. Shifter = win too. So much less slop and missed shift engagements. Brings new life to the car.

I just installed mine tonight. Holy crap what a difference it makes! The car feels completely different! From reading some reviews I was scared about the vibration. That's bullshit. It's barely noticeable. If you can't handle the vibration then maybe you should get a fucking Camry. My lady didn't even complain.

You.need.this.upgrade.

As everyone else had mentioned, JBR is wonderful to deal with. They're like the fucking Amazon of the speed world.

This RMM has to be the best investment I've made so far. I upgrading from the Sure Street Urethane. The vibes are there but I honestly don't notice them much. Great product and great engineering. I can't wait until I have my TMM!

I just installed mine about 15 minutes ago. I have not got a chance to drive it yet. The vibrations are noticeable around 1200 rpms but it is what I expected. Can't wait to take it for a spin.

Has anyone experienced the transmission slipping out of 5th gear? I recently put in the short shift plate and it happened once or twice, but since the installation of the chromoloy rmm it happens all the time. other than that, I love it.

Unless you have some form of down syndrome or have the strength of an infant, you can have that thing on in 20 minutes. It will take you longer to jack up the car.

Get that thing in!! One of the best mods I've done so far!

Wasn't making fun of people with down syndrome. Just making a joke. If he has aspergers (I believe that's a form of down syndrome) he could probably turn this car into a 1000whp beast lol.

Know how I know your mounts are awesome?

New thread every three days saying it. I read like 10 when I was thinking about buying 70-80-88 and found a ton of nothing but positive about JBR... others, "I haz loud clunking noise? Ripped mount is ripped."
JBR likes this.
