(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Details: By request of the Mazdaspeed Community, JBR has put together an affordable *3-Port Electronic Boost Controller that utilizes the trusted MAC 35 series valve. No longer do you need to waste your time sourcing the valve, the fittings, the vacuum hose and the hardware separately to make up your own kit. We've done all the work for you and it's all right here in one complete kit at a very reasonable price. The MAC 35 series is a direct solenoid operated 3-way poppet valve. It features a short stroke solenoid, a balanced poppet and powerful return spring. These features translate into high shifting forces, fast consistent response times, and long life. This valve provides extremely fast response and very high high flow all in a surprisingly small package. We've made the installation as simple as possible too. It can easily be mounted in the OEM location and plugs directly in to the OEM wiring harness. With the 18" leads, it can be mounted most anywhere with the included mounting bracket, 36" of vacuum hose and mounting hardware. Features: - Designed and Manufactured in the USA - Nickel plated vacuum fittings - Complete kit ready to install - OEM mounting location Application: 2006 - 2013 Mazdaspeed 3/6 and CX-7 Includes: -1 EBCS -3 1/8" NPT 90 degree vacuum fittings -1 1/8" NPT Plug -5 Zip ties -36" of vacuum hose -2 Vacuum caps -1 Vacuum T Connector -Mounting bracket -Mounting hardware -Carries MAC manufacturers warranty -Shipping is free in the US *Proper tuning is required for 3-port mode Last edited by JBR; 06-06-2015 at 05:18 AM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score My only issue with the 1/8" is the fittings on the other end (TIP, WGA, and boost source) are usually 1/4".

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ahhh...I think I see where there's some confusion here. The threaded part of the fitting is 1/8" NPT. The actual vacuum nipple is 3/16", the same as the waste gate, bypass valve and the vent port on the turbo inlet pipe. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Got it, installed it, tuned for it and wrote revision tune to play with tomorrow. I took off the TIP to get a little more room to work. Mounting it on the coolant line bracket is nice and neat but makes getting on the hose clamp on the TIP a bit more difficult.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I believe the newish corksport EBCS, is based on the newer bullet-style EBCS from MAC. I know Perrin also has used that bullet style mac valve for their EBCS for quite some time now. So my question is, I kind of thought that bullet valve would become the basis for any new EBCS that might come out. Since the JBR is the traditional block shaped MAC valve like Cobb/Grimm/Stratified, does that mean you found that the newer bullet style mac valve isn't much better?

We tested the bullet valve and we were unable able to capture any measurable data to support that it performed any better than the 35xx series. We took that data when we met with MAC and asked the very same question. The response was "This is a rather crude application to need or use a valve as advanced as the bullet valve". With that, we elected to not pursue the use of it. ![]() | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score How well will this work with stock 2 port setting? Does it require and special changes to the tune? I just broke my ecbs, wanted to see if this is a better option than cheap/expensive mazda replacements. @jbarone; Thanks in advance, I am going to try and get this ordered today if it is a better alternative |

| Not Ranked : 0 score If you use it in bleed/2port mode it functions the same as the stock solenoid.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Just ordered it after a frustrating day of install. I am going to assume based off other 3-port/2 port installs that the left goes to the TIP and the right goes to the wastegate (based on the picture in the first post) -nick |

| Not Ranked : 0 score When I look at the stratified 2 port bleed mode it shows a "restrictor" from the boost source. Do I need to run one? Does the t set up need to be the same as well? I did not see a 2 port set up in the instructions @jbarone; Thanks |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Just installed mine earlier today (3-port); made the necessary changes to WGDC in my tune, and set off to begin the adventure. Already i can see the boost reacting more responsively. Starting at 15 WGDC is no fun it looks like the highest boost i could get on the initial run was 11 PSI (normal for the first run with the extremely lower WGDC, right?). I'll start moving it up and see how it goes. One thing I would recommend; include more Zip-Ties!! (You can never have enough zip-ties). Great solenoid from what i'm seeing so far Mr. James Barone, keep up the good work. |
