| Not Ranked : 0 score Finally got around to putting in the dogbone Chrome-Molly mount this weekend and holy crap. As soon as I turned the key after the install I could tell the difference, the car had a more noticeable growl to it. Took her around the neighborhood a few times and the difference is outstanding, no more fancy clutch-play to keep the thing from bucking around on start-up/shifts, the engine feels solidly strapped to the rest of the car now. Like someone else on here said, it feels like it's all working as one single unit, rather than the engine awkwardly dragging the car along. As far as vibrations, they definitely are noticeable. Personally I don't mind, I think from the inside it makes the car sound mean as hell, but there are a few resonances at certain RPMs where things get extra loud and make me wonder how much the car is getting shaken apart. As this speed's a daily driver, that'd be the only reason I'd possibly sell off this mount and go with one of the billet pieces. For now though, I'll let the poly get broken in and see where the vibrations are after that. Regarding the product itself and JBR, all I can say is top-notch. The service was fast and the price was good, and the mount is cleanly made and very solid. Jamie, you make some good shit. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score i just wanted to add my quick review for the molly mount as well. i have total noob status when it comes to working on cars. even after reading lots of information on this site, i really didn't know what to expect from adding this mod to my car. so i got nator'ed up at hq and slapped the mount on. wow, is my first reaction after taking it for a test run. the car feels like it just wants to go now; no wheel hop, power just gets laid down to the ground. maybe it's the placebo effect, but to me it seems like my feels tighter as well. as for nvh...this was my biggest worry because it is my dd. again, noob status no idea what to expect...yes there is an increase, however, it's only at start up and certain low rpm ranges (about 1200-2000 for me). but it's nothing earth shattering, more like a cheap massage chair at the lowest setting. i actually like it because, it makes the drive more enjoyable; it's easier to feel/listen to what the car is telling me now (if that makes sense) so, at not even a week, i am very impressed with this product, and the quick service from jbr. intall was easy with the instructions from the jbr site and nator hq. thank you~! midoritora |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Also, I don't know if I posted this in this particular thread - remember guys, that driver311, who's pushing 400whp, is using all stock mounts, except for the rear, which he filled with urethane. Chances are you're making less power than him, so if the side mounts are anything like the rear mounts that are being offered, then it is 100% worth it to wait. I got my rear mount over a year ago, but if the JBarone mounts had been out then you better believe I would have picked one up. I'd like to see a comparison between the JBR 80 duro and the cp-e 75 duro - my guess is that the JBR would be at, near, or possibly even below the vibes of the cp-e. Jamie, I know you say that the washers that the cp-e use contribute to the "noise" or "vibrations" of the mount, but tbh there's enough pressure on them I can't see them moving around enough to create any extra chatter or vibrations. I think the cp-e is a very well designed mount, much like your own, and I think a shootout between the two would make for an interesting read. |

I don't know the characteristics of urethane vs. epdm, tensile characteristics or otherwise, but it occurs to me that the cp-e design (especially the shape of the spacers), seems to allow a less stiff material effectively behave like a much stiffer one, when you consider how the forces are applied and distributed to an engine mount. The shape of the spacers appear to progressively distribute force towards the center of the mount (where the material is thinner) with engine load, and conversely away from it under low-load situations. Now, this may or may not be the case, but those were my thoughts initially upon receiving the cp-e mount. If the EPDM does fail, CP-E offers a lifetime warranty on all of their products, so in my case driving gently for a week while the stock mount is still installed would not be a deterrent to purchasing the cp-e mount. Like I said before, if your RMM had been out, I would have absolutely bought it without hesitation before any other mount. I just think that the fact that you name the cp-e mount off hand/casually and point out what you believe to be design flaws with it is unfair to cp-e without a counterpoint opinion. I'm sure you there are aspects of every mount that you can critique (hence why yours doesn't look like any other mount), it just occurred to me that the cp-e was targeted disproportionately in this discussion.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I met up with Jamie today and bought one of the 70d mounts from him. Installed it this afternoon. The difference between JB's and the stock mount would be like comparing apples to oranges. Only noticeable vibration is stopped at idle. It is very mild steering wheel vibes. Otherwise, feels like stock except the car feels better in shifts and wheel hop has been drastically reduced. Keep in mind that I replaced a stock RMM with 62k miles on it with this so as you can imagine the improvement. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score anyone compared the molly to the trz? molly's bushings look bigger. not by much, but it may eliminate some nvh... the reason i was considering all the mounts is my quest to eliminate drivetrain bounce. with the trz it was gone, but the vibes were nutty. with my su the vibes are barely there but the bounce is back, but not as bad as stock. maybe the jbr 80 billet..? fuck, i don't know!

As for your dilemma...the Molly will be similar to the TRZ. Go with the 80 billet. Tapawhat?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Installed Jamie's 70 duro RMM yesterday; I was surprised by how much it improved shift action. It also feels more solid than the AWR RMM I replaced. I've only noticed some vibration at idle with the A/C on, but it doesn't bother me at all. The JBR trifecta (bushings, SSP, heavy knob) should really be the superfecta; bushings, SSP, heavy knob AND RMM. As always, great stuff Jamie...keep it up!

| Not Ranked : 0 score just got mine in .. gotta say, its such nice piece. I don't remember the SU mount i had being this nice.. Its a solid piece... it's lot thicker than it looks in the pics... and i like how the bushing doesn't stick out the ends like torque solutions and Sure.. that lil bit you see in the his pics is a flap..the entire bushing is inside the mount. Awesome work James! |

| Not Ranked : 0 score so after installing it I see why the dog bone style is superior in rigidity. Tightening down the supplied bolt ,you can see the mount move/flex..After installing it last night and going for a quick drive;i gotta say at first i didn't know what to look for as far as improvement..its been a while since i had a rmm.. But today i noticed getting into any gear feels better.. You don't feel you have to baby it.. There is not much movement in the drivetrain..as for wheel hop I don't know, I haven't tried launching yet.. Vibs? so minimal its not worth mentioning < and its not broken in yet..I would say the 80 duro billet style would be just fine aswell. Update:.. feel the vibs more now.. its not there so much when you first start the car..but after when you come to a light..but nothing crazy, just more than I had felt.Still not broken in.... I gotta re-tighten it to 70lbs cause i know its a lot more now..heard it might cause more vibs if you over tighten..not sure why or if it true but ill tighten per instructions. | Not Ranked : 0 score ^ i bet you won't even notice the vibes if you get an 80, at least once it's broken in.. stay away from the dogbone style mounts if you don't want noise/vibes. i had a trz and the drone that thing brought into the cabin was too much, especially at highway speeds. that being said, it was one solid mother!

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yes and no. I go to the track about once a month and the 60 duro CPe mount I have just isn't enough, it's good for a DD'er but not good at all on the track. Also the dog bone high duro mounts make your tranny shift that much smoother and gives u even a less chance to miss a gear. I could care less about vibes, I just don't want my engine to move so it can put more power to the ground and keep the wheel hop minimal. I'm also going to be putting on a tranny mount with this dog bone rmm and than am going to wait till Jamie cones out with a passenger mount and pick that up also.

| Not Ranked : 0 score How does it compare to the TRZ dogbone-style RMM? I'm curious, as my poly TRZ dogbone causes serious NVH at about 1500-2000 RPM.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Depending on how much you drive; in about 3 weeks it will be pretty much gone. Jamie
I ship everything in less than 24 hours. In most cases it's within a few hours of the order being placed so it can get on the truck the day it's ordered. Thanks, Jamie Last edited by JBR; 04-28-2011 at 05:13 AM. Reason: MSF Database - Automerged Doublepost

| Not Ranked : 0 score Small vendors have no excuse for not shipping out quickly unless they are out of stock. I had a tracking number withing 45 mins of ordering my JBR dogbone today.
