Arrow JBR MAZDASPEED 3/6 & CX-7 Thermal Insulating Gaskets In Stock!!

James Barone Racing
Performance Aftermarket Parts & Accessories

Thermal Insulating Intake Gasket Kit
&
Thermal Insulating Throttle Body Gasket & Coolant Bypass Kit

The Mazda 2.3L MZR DISI engine is assembled using paper thin metal gaskets between the intake manifold and cylinder head. The same paper thin style metal gasket is used between the throttle body and intake manifold. This design allows intense heat to be transferred to both, greatly increasing boost air temperature and robbing you of horsepower.

The JBR Thermal Insulating Intake Gasket Kit prevents this unwanted transfer of heat thus reducing boost air temps and increasing horsepower.

Constructed out of .062 virgin grade PTFE with a temperature rating of 500°F. CAD designed and ported to ensure there’s no reduction in flow. Thin enough to be effective without the risk of cracking your intake manifold. And it’s reusable too!

The JBR Thermal Insulating Gasket Kit is stackable up to 4 thick while utilizing stock mounting hardware.

Application: Mazdaspeed 3/6, CX-7 All

Kit Includes:
1 Insulating Intake Manifold Gasket
1 Insulating Intake Manifold Gasket Spacer
Detailed Online Installation Instructions
Free Shipping

The JBR Thermal Insulating Throttle Body Gasket & Coolant Bypass Kit prevents this unwanted transfer of heat from the intake manifold and eliminates the 200°F coolant from flowing through it. This reduces boost air temps and increases horsepower.

Constructed out of .062 virgin grade PTFE with a temperature rating of 500°F. CAD designed and ported to ensure there’s no reduction in flow and it’s reusable too!

The JBR Thermal Insulating Throttle Body Gasket Kit is stackable up to 4 thick while utilizing stock mounting hardware.

Application: Mazdaspeed 3/6, CX-7 All

Kit Includes:
1 Insulating Throttle Body Gasket
1 Brass Barbed Coupler
2 Coolant inlet caps
Detailed Online Installation Instructions

The JBR Thermal Insulating Intake Gasket Kit & Thermal Insulating Throttle Body Gasket Kit perform even better when combined with the JBR EGR Block off Kit. What’s the point in re-circulating hot exhaust gas in to a cool intake plenum?

So for the TB bypass you just hook the 2 coolant lines together with the barb?

Yep, and cap the open coolant ports on the throttle body.

Can you buy the bypass separate, or does it have to be with the TB TIG?

detailed instructions are a must, or people will be cracking their manifold left and right as they did with the sure tigs. people have a tendency to overtorque as well

Oh damn how did I miss this post. I have a question though, whats the benefit of selling them as stackable and not just making the thickest one possible that the stock components would allow?

That's a really good question.

The cost of raw PTFE in 1/4" thickness is very, very expensive; like $15-$1800.00 per 4x8 sheet. Stamping costs are increased as well. So the cost to the consumer would be too high and the gains in performance are not significant enough that the majority of guys would really benefit from it. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks,
Jamie

Makes perfect sense. Thanks for keeping the cost reasonable.

Quick question I'm sure some people might wonder...

Will these offer the same performance for a mild daily driver as for a fully bolted, BT motor?

By mild, I mean a few bolt ons and maybe a tune.

Or, would you need an aftermarket IC to really get the full effects?

I think every little bit helps regardless of the amount of mods.

No...you see the most benefit with one and a little better with 2. I only tested with 2 and I know you can stack 4, so my assumption is there will be some better performance with 4.

should we anticipate manifold cracking problems that have plagued all of these gaskets?

With SURE it's not really a product problem, SURE should have included directions for the slow. When you install a gasket that thick you can definately tell that fuel rail bracket does not line up.

But at JBR's piece, are you including a lower spacer like SURE does. If people use two of these gaskets and crank the bottom bracket on the manifold down are customers going to get cracked manifolds. Just don't want your customer service blemished by something that is really finicky and fragile to install.

If you follow my instructions exactly, especially the part about loosening the fuel rail cover and the torque specs you will have no issues.

Thanks,

one would assume that JBR has learned from the SURE fiasco and complete dropping of the ball and fucking of atleast a dozen or so couches to include actual directions for this peice.

step # 24 (loosen rear fuel rail cover bolts)... how much do you loosen them and you don't re-tighten them, correct? i'm doing this over the weekend and don't want to get bnoon'd with incorrect / missing instructions.

If i were you I wouldn't even bother putting the two fuel rail cover bolts back in the ones that connect to the manifold.

You loosen the fuel rail cover enough so it moves around. Then after ALL of the manifold bolts are installed and torqued, INCLUDING both of the front fuel rail cover bolts, you re-tighten the 2 rear cover bolts you loosened in step 24. There is NO need to leave any bolts out if you follow my instructions exactly.

Thanks,
Jamie
