(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I recently upgraded to the JBR 0.125" wall rear sway bar, billet mounting brackets, and just added the MOOG end links. I initially installed the bar and brackets with the stock end-links at the middle-setting for adjustment. The car felt much better on the butt-skidpad just around town but could tell it was still not as stiff as what I was looking for (balance F to R) especially on turn-in… corner exit was much improved. Before going to GingerMan on Monday, I was going to adjust the setting to full stiff. A few days after install I got the same “clunking” sound that I had previously… Okay so it’s probably the end links so I ordered a set and they arrived just in time to install before the track. When I went to install them into the most stiff setting and then back up into the control arms… I could see there is some fitment issues. The lower joint and grease fitting come in contact with the lower control arm at this setting. It took a lot more effort than I initially thought it would to get them in there without getting stuck on the LCA gusset and to get it to tuck in next to it… although still in contact with it. Also, the grease fittings I can aim but getting a grease gun head on there might be a problem… but it will be more of a problem if one of them is broken off from contact with the LCA. If I move the stiffness adjustment setting to the middle, it looks like there will be no clearance issues. I’m kicking myself now, knowing the money spent on all the components, for not getting the competition bar… After driving the car all day at GingerMan in the full dry and also the full wet… The car still plows a whole lot… Although much better than stock I was hoping for a lot more of a balance change. I am happy with the fit and quality of the bar/braces but I am not impressed with the MOOG endlinks with that stiffness setting… This has to have been tested, was it just accepted that they will rub on the LCA? I bought these for longevity so that I would never have to mess with the rear sways again but now I have to go under and adjust to a less desired setting to avoid a clearance issue. Feel free to discuss – pictures are attached.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Just plug it with the same size fitting that isn't so long, and swap when you need to grease em.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I can confirm with the car on the ground the end links won't be in constant contact with the LCA. But as the suspension compresses you may experience a clunk or some noise depending on how much compression you experience. My end links actually contact with the LCA on occasion, not just the grease fitting.

| Not Ranked : 0 score RSB isn't going to completely stop a FWD car from plowing, that's not the purpose, especially on throttle; I had no idea MOOGs came with zerk fittings though, that's awesome! That said, the MOOG endlinks are easily the largest (in width/size) we can get on this car. That's good to know though, a lot of my locals seem to gravitate towards the JBR RSB, and I like to push people looking for endlinks to the MOOGs because they are good quality over stockers. Only thing I would recommend would be to go to some adjustable endlinks, or the stockers. Out of all of it, that grease fitting does scare me the most, I can't blame you on that decision, that's asking for a really bad time. Due to location I would never suggest plugging the hole either (even though that's what a lot of aftermarket companies like Whiteline do actually do.. just don't prefer it), not to mention space isn't exactly.. friendly right in there. Keep it in the middle setting (I almost feel it's equally guarantee-able that it won't work on the soft setting either), and get adjustables (which are loud btw if you're looking at Tri-Points... holy crap are they loud). Or stockers. If you're doing competition though, I'd recommend some adjustable ones.

| Not Ranked : 0 score As the suspension compresses, the clearance actually improves so, I don't think the clunking you're hearing is from the end links contacting the lower control arms. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I can assure you, they clear just fine in all positions and when oriented properly the grease fittings are fine too and certainly nothing to be scared of. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score A little late to the party here, but I would like to add I've been running my JBR bar on full stiff w/Moog endlinks for ~6,000 miles. 2 auto-x's, 2 track days, zero issues; also no clunking/noises of any kind. The endlinks should not be contacting the LCA in any way, including the zerk fittings. |
